Trish Stratus On Conversation With Natalya About Her Farting Gimmick, Which Divas Should Be In HOF

Source: The Layfield Report

Gerry Strauss of The Layfield Report recently interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Here are some highlights:

Divas she keeps in touch with: "So I always speak to Nattie all the time, just continuing to encourage her. When she was doing the farting gimmick, I just told her that I know sometimes you feel like "why am I doing this?", but know that everything happens for a reason, and maybe they'll show a different side of her personality and try to use it somehow. It's nice to keep in touch with these girls."

Which former Divas should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame: "Well, I think an obvious one is Luna Vachon. I know that if I was to look at who would I think would be going in this year before I got the call, who would I pick as a female? Luna Vachon for sure. Hopefully one day, 'Macho Man' will be inducted and I'm sure that would mean Miss Elizabeth would be... those are two super important people within the industry. And from my era? Gosh I wouldn't be surprised if every single one of them got in. I mean you know they all deserve it.

"The work that I'm being recognized for, so to speak, is the work that we all did. It wasn't just me. It was the storylines we created, and it was the groundbreaking matches. It was the way we perceived women's wrestling as a whole. It wasn't just me'it was all of us. I'm talking about everyone from Jacqueline to Ivory to Lita to Molly Holly to Mickie James to Victoria... those were the girls. We were the ones who busted our butts and tried to really change the way women's wrestling was perceived... so, to me, any one of those women easily fit the bill."

Trish also discussed entering the business, being a part of Tough Enough and much more. You can read the full interview here.

Shawn Michaels Says Comments From Vince McMahon Not About Daniel Bryan

As noted earlier, Shawn Michaels recently revealed during an interview with the Ministry of Slam podcast that he had a conversation with Vince McMahon, who said that he doesn't "see money" in an anonymous WWE Superstar. Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly reported that the person McMahon was referring to could have been Daniel Bryan.

Shawn Michaels took to his Twitter to deny that claim, stating that Vince was big on Bryan and that the person he was referring to "is actually 6'3 250."

"That [Bryan] isn't even who we were talking about," Michaels wrote. "He's big on DB. Shame y'all let those folks work you like that... No, the guy is actually 6'3 250, ironically, y'all miss the same point he did. Amusing since everyone's knocking him."

When asked who he was referring to in the interview, Michaels replied, "I would have said if I thought relevant. Not DB tho."

Here are Michaels' original comments on the Ministry of Slam podcast:

"I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with the man in charge and we were talking about a certain individual and he goes, 'I just don't see money in him.' And I said, 'You said the same thing about me.' He said, 'I did not.' I said, 'Yes you did!' (laughs) I said, 'And it's okay. It's just one of those things.'

"I wasn't your prototypical - heck, I wasn't anybody's prototypical main event guy, and I knew that. So, you just do your absolute best. Yes, I was very scared and very worried, which had a lot to do with how bad I handled stuff. I spent a great deal of my career waiting for the other shoe to drop, because it was a very real view of me and my ability and talent. I'm a firm believer that talent does rise to the top, but you have to be patient. So, I spent a great deal of time worried, intimidated, and concerned that with each passing storyline, it might be the last one."

** SPOILERS ** Another Detailed Set Of WWE SmackDown Results

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Aaron Alder, @OgnarPliskin and @RobStarkeyjr for sending in these results from tonight's SmackDown taping at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina:

* Sheamus defeated Damien Sandow in a Dublin Street Fight. This was a pretty fun brawl that saw a beer keg, cane and even a bag of potatoes used. Pretty long match that saw Sheamus get the win after sitting Sandow on two chairs and planting him with a Brogue kick.

MizTV was next, Miz's guest was Paul Heyman. Curtis Axel comes out and Miz challenges him to a match. Heyman refused, and Axel attacked Miz and left him laying to end the segment.

* Natalya defeated AJ Lee via pinfall in a quick match. Kaitlyn came out dressed like AJ to distract her, allowing Natalya to pick up the win. Kaitlyn speared AJ after the match.

* Teddy Long was backstage with Vince McMahon and announced the Money In The Bank contestants for the World Heavyweight Championship title shot. The contestants are: Fandango, Wade Barrett, Dean Ambrose, Jack Swagger, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes and Antonio Cesaro.

* Randy Orton pinned Kane. Daniel Bryan was on commentary. The end saw Kane get sent to the outside. Bryan helped Kane back into the ring, only for Orton to nail Kane with the RKO for the win.

* Ryback squashed Justin Gabriel. After the match, Chris Jericho came out and cut a promo calling Ryback "Cryback." They fought for a minute before Ryback took off to the back.

* The Usos and Christian defeated The Shield after Christian pinned Dean Ambrose. Said to be a very good match.

* Fiesta Del Rio closed the show. There were tons of balloons and a mariachi band. Dolph Ziggler interrupted and attacked Del Rio and hit him with the props around the ring. Ziggler went to hit Del Rio with a Spanish guitar, but Del Rio bailed.

While Ziggler was celebrating, Del Rio got back in the ring but accidentally kicked Ricardo in the head. Ziggler sent him packing and broke the Spanish guitar on Ricardo's upper body. Ziggler then played the broken guitar with the mariachi band to end the segment.

That was the end of the show, there was no dark match.

Dolph Ziggler Says World Title Doesn't Have Prestige It Once Did, Talks His Wrestling Hero & More

Source: Channel 24

Channel 24 has an interview with Dolph Ziggler, who was promoting the upcoming WWE tour of South Africa. The interview was conducted last week when Ziggler was still World Heavyweight Champion, here are some highlights:

If the World Heavyweight Championship has the interest and prestige it had with Triple H: "Honestly, no, I don't think so. Here's the deal. As a titleholder of a championship, you are the representatives of the company. You are the champion, you are the face of either Raw or Smackdown, and for some reason in the past couple of years the WHC has gone down in value from the fans' standpoint and perhaps from an administrative standpoint. As we understand it the WWE Championship is the title of Monday Night Raw and that is the flagship of WWE. But my goal, every single time I've touched anything, I found a way to bring prestige back to something that used to be a stepping stone. To me, the WHC is one of the biggest prizes in the game of all time, because I grew up as a huge fan of it. So now, my goal is to have this become the premiere title in sports entertainment. Whether that can happen, I don't know, but I am just getting started. I'm a couple weeks into it, and I promise if it has anything to do with me, then it will become the prize that it was."

His wrestling hero: "Stone Cold Steve Austin, because he had a great rivalry with The Rock. As a fan growing up, every Monday night I looked forward to the glass breaking and Stone Cold coming out, whether he was in a match or just talking I didn't care, I just wanted to see him because he was that good at what he does. And I want some day for kids to hear my music and go 'Here we go, it's gonna be the best part of the show' and I think I have been working and working and working and one day we're gonna get that."

Ziggler also discussed his feud with Alberto Del Rio, recovery from his injury, how he's a fan of Justin Gabriel, not being able to win a match without AJ and Big E (or with them) and much more. You can read the full interview by clicking here.

WWE Live Event Results From Daytona Beach (6/22): Did Ziggler Work As A Heel?, Sheamus Vs. Big E

Here are results for tonight's WWE Smackdown live event in Daytona Beach, FL:

The house was about 70% full, or about 4500 people.

The opening saw local radio DJ Buckethead with a Miz is Awesome contest. The winner is a local mailman.

The opening bout is The Miz vs Curtis Axel. There was a taped Paul Heyman intro. Great opener with decent heat on Axel, and Miz was way over with the crowd. Axel hits his finisher out of nowhere and gets the win. Miz recovers and hits Axel as he celebrates to win back the crowd.

Out comes Zeb Colter and Antonio Cesaro. They get major heat as Colter claims Jacksonville (wrong town) is full of immigrants. Colter says it's they have an open challenge and no one will accept. 10 seconds go by and Dolph Ziggler hits the ring. Zigler accepts a match later and clotheslines Cesaro out of the ring.

Ted DiBiase vs Heath Slater is next. Crowd is cold to both. Slow paced match with DiBiase getting the win.

Kaitlyn & Layla defeated AJ & Aksana. The match was way over with the crowd. Kaitlyn hit her finisher on Askana to pick up the win.

Sheamus vs Big E Langston was next. Great power bout that saw Langston dominate most of the match with about 5 false finishes until the Brogue Kick ends it for a Sheamus win. Langston showed great improvement and AJ played very little factor in the match. Looks like Big E can carry a match pretty well with a bit more experience.

Khali vs Primo & Epico was next. Khali picked up the win in a squash match that was about 6 minutes long.

Prime Time Players vs The Usos. Top notch match from both teams. The Usos intro is by far the hottest of all entrances tonight. The crowd was smokin hot for this match. Usos used some double team moves and quick in and out tags to get the win. Really impressed with the way they controlled crowd and sold for PTP. PTP did well, but it wasn't their best outing. Darren looked tired in the parking lot during autographs, to the point where someone asked about it.

Antonio Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler is a crowd pick 'em was next. It ended up with a No DQ stip. Great back and forth action. "Get the tables" was an ongoing chant through the match, which Cesaro finally introduced after getting beaten by a kendo stick. Cesaro was later put through a table and Ziggler hit his finisher to get the win.

Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton was the main event. I was surprised at how much Orton had to carry a house show match with Barret. This was not Wade's best outing. Orton obviously called the match due to the fact that they were tied up before almost every move. The crowd didn't seem to notice much actually, except a few marks in the crowd that were smart enough to know who was carrying the weight. Orton hit the RKO for the win in 22 minutes and the place erupted.

Notes: Orton and Barrett didn't do autographs beforehand. Neither did Cesaro or Zigler. But for the most part, the rest of the roster did, with Prime Time Players being the most friendly and they stayed out for probably close to a half hour.

Travel partners were: Barrett / Slater, Big E / AJ, Colter was alone, Primo / Epico, Aksana / Layla. From the back it seemed like Mike Rotunda was calling most of what was happening throughout the night. Colter had some input too. Orton was not around until about an hour for his match. But he and Sheamus had their buses parked just outside the lockerroom door, so it wasn't unexpected. NXT put about 8 athletes at a table out front in box office area for signatures throughout the night. Steady line until the car got to PTP/Uso's.

Overall not a bad night for WWE in Daytona Beach. It wasn't Bash at the Beach and the world turns overnight with a Hogan swerve, but solid house show.

- SmackDown kicks off with a Payback recap video and the fallout on RAW.

- We go to the arena as Daniel Bryan's music hits and he "YES's" his way to the ring. Bryan pauses in the middle of the ring as we get "YES" chants. He says on Monday something happened to him that hasn't happened in his 13 years; he has never had a match stopped due to injury. He says when the doctor asked him if he was good he said, "Yes!" He says they stopped the match because they think he is the weakest link and think he's not tough enough.

Bryan sends to the video on the Titantron and says Orton is the biggest one at fault. We see as Orton shakes Bryan's hand at the end of the footage. Bryan says instead of raging to have the match continue, Orton patted him on the head like a little dog, with pity. Bryan says he will prove he is not the weak link when he beats Randy Orton tonight. He goes into a "YES" frenzy.

Orton's music hits and he comes to the ring. Orton says Bryan has it all wrong. He says people were concerned for Bryan's well-being and he respected the fact that Bryan just kept coming. Orton says he put his arm around Bryan, not out of pity, but respect. Bryan isn't buying it and he is still paranoid about being weak. Orton agrees to the match but he says he will hurt Bryan tonight and when it gets stopped, Bryan will get carried out. He says, "Respect that!" and walks up the ramp. Bryan shakes his head in the ring.

- Chris Jericho faces Alberto Del Rio tonight, along with Curtis Axel vs. Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship.

- Sheamus comes to the ring. We're back from a break as Sheamus awaits Cody Rhodes in the ring. He is accompanied by Damien Sandow in a suit. Is he in the Main Event Mafia too?

Sheamus vs. Cody Rhodes

We see on the WWE App that Cody and Sandow drew straws to determine who faced Sheamus tonight. Sheamus and Cody feel each other out. Sheamus brings Cody down off the top the hard way. The action goes to the floor and Rhodes gets the upper hand as he throws Sheamus into the wall and awaits him in the ring.

Cody hits stomps back in the ring but Sheamus fights out of the corner. Cody works Sheamus' left arm and shoulder and kicks him in the head for 2. Cody rolls Sheamus up with the tights for 2. Sheamus fights back on the apron but Rhodes catches him in an arm submission in the ring. Sheamus gets back to his feet and hits a series of axes and the rolling senton. Sheamus kicks Sandow from the apron and goes for White Noise but Cody counters. Sheamus applies the Cloverleaf for the win.

Winner by submission: Sheamus

Sandow immediately jumps in the ring and kicks Sheamus in the back of the head and unleashes a vicious assault on him. Sandow and Rhodes leave the ring with Sheamus laying. Sandow and Sheamus have a stare down across the ramp.

Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com Live TNA Impact Viewing Party. We will be providing live ongoing coverage of tonight's Impact, while you all can chime in with your thoughts throughout the show.

Please help spread word of tonight's coverage. Twitter users, please share this page by clicking the 'Share' button below:

Keep hitting REFRESH on your browser to get the most up-to-date results.

- Impact starts with Sting walking, in a suit, into the arena from the parking lot, from earlier in the day.

- We go to a Bound for Glory Series video package. The tournament begins tonight.

- We go to crowd shots from Peoria, Illinois. It's Open Fight Night. 10 of the 12 men who have qualified for the BFG Series are in the ring. The missing two are Roode and Hardy. Hulk Hogan comes to the stage in a blue TNA tank top and introduces Bobby Roode followed by Jeff Hardy.

Hardy and Roode join the rest in the ring. Hardy has paint on his neck only. Hogan sends to the big screen for the results of the fan vote for the first call-out. Hardy beats Roode, 68%-32%. Hogan asks who Hardy is calling out. Austin Aries cuts a promo about how he would love to face Hardy but he has just as many supporters in the crowd as Hardy. Daniels takes the mic and says Hardy should not call out he or Kazarian because Hardy would suffer a demoralizing loss.

Hardy says he is calling out Roode for making it personal last week. Roode pushes Hardy and a big brawl breaks out.

- Back from a break to a replay. They show a graphic for how the BFG tournament works.

- Mr. Anderson makes his entrance. The guy in the skull shirt that is always at WWE shows is in the front row. Anyone know who that guy is or how he can afford to travel the country chasing wrestling shows every week? He was at RAW again on Monday. Anderson calls out Joseph Park. Park makes his entrance.

Open Fight Night / BFG Series: Mr. Anderson vs. Joseph Park

Anderson plays around with Park and gives him a couple of free shots. Park applies a headlock but Anderson schools him. Park "wakes up" and hits a nice takedown combination. Anderson goes more vicious and kicks Park in the gut and takes it to him with strikes in the corner. Park stacks Anderson up out of the corner for 2. Anderson hits a swinging neckbreaker for 2.

Anderson misses with a senton from the top. Park hits a back bodydrop a Boston Crab. DOC shows up and distracts the ref. Park gets rolled up from behind but Park kicks out. Park hits a series of slams and goes to the second turnbuckle. DOC gets on the apron and kicks Park. Anderson takes the advantage with a reverse STO for the win.

Winner of 7 points by pin: Mr. Anderson

- Anderson and DOC argue in the back in front of the brotherhood. They both think they should be the new VP. Bully yells at them and says they will put it to a vote. He says they have other business tonight involving his wife.

- Jay Bradley is in the ring. He calls out Austin Aries.

Open Fight Night / BFG Series: Austin Aries vs. Jay Bradley

Aries hops in the ring and side steps a charging Jay who falls out of the ring. Aries leaps off the top and onto Jay on the floor. Back in the ring, Bradley kicks Aries off top and to the floor. Bradley powers Aries back in and hits a knee for 2.

Bob Holly On Former WWE Star That Threatened To Beat Up Vince McMahon, His New Book, More

Source: TheShootOnline.com

"Hardcore" Bob Holly was a guest on The Shoot radio show this past Sunday to promote his new book, The Hardcore Truth: The Bob Holly Story. You can listen to the full show here, the interview starts at around the 30 minute mark. Here are some highlights:

Initial hesitation about writing a book: "It's funny because I really didn't think about putting out a book until I started thinking about it and sharing road stories, and reflecting back. You know? I was just a midcard guy, who wants to read what Bob Holly's got to say."

Becoming famous and trying to find the balance of still being a regular guy: "What a lot of people don't know about me until they read my book is, I'm a welder by trade, I've worked regular jobs, I've worked hard. I did what I had to do and I've sacrificed to make ends meet. So I've been there where a lot of people are now. I appreciate those people because I know what they are going through, same thing I did. I didn't give up, I worked my ass off on very little sleep, worked a regular job while trying to make it in wrestling, Traveling up and down the road. People can relate to that."

Life on the road & not being home with your family: "It's hard no matter what. It's nice to having Twitter, Cell Phones & Skype but it's not the same as being home. Your family wants you home. When you're gone it's just not fun."

Specifically being away from his children: "I was gone 30-40 days on one tour, I'd come home for 1-2 days and I'd be gone again. You miss all the good years, I missed all the years of her going to school and doing certain things in grade school and high school. When she graduated I was able to fly home just in time to get to the ceremony to see her graduate and then I was right back on a plane to go back to work."

Response to Heidenreich's comments about him in 2007: "The reason he lost his job was because of him, the biggest downfall was he was supposed to be at TV at 1pm and he shows up at 7pm. They had big plans for him and Animal. He shows up at 7pm and then threatens to beat up Johnny (Ace) then threatens to beat up Vince so they got rid of him."

Heidenreich's criticism of him working stiff with Rene Dupree and Heidenreich saying he was going to bash Bob's head in: "He's had the opportunity so many times to bash my head in. When that thing happened with me and Rene Dupree he was nowhere to be found, he had nothing to say about it. He was there at the time that stuff went down, he never said anything to me. He's just talking tough from a million miles away."

Sean Waltman Talks Working With Shane McMahon At WrestleMania XV, Being Pushed As The 1-2-3 Kid

Sean Waltman discussed his career with Inside The Ropes this past Thursday as he promoted the Viva L.A Lucha Kickstarter campaign (details available here). Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On his huge promotion upon his arrival to the WWF in 1993 as the 1-2-3 Kid, compared to talent receiving opportunities today: "Okay, they were pushing me, but this is what I don't understand. There's some guys now who are getting their opportunities and doing a lot with them, but you can't push something that doesn't propel itself. Sometimes you're limited to what you are talent wise. My angle was really unique when I came in. Usually a guy would come in with vignettes and then win some squash matches and get over that way. They seemed to have a well thought out plan for me. Plus the angle with Razor and I was the first storyline they ran on Raw so that was pretty cool."

On being told he's working with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania XV: "I didn't like it going in, I was expecting to have this big WrestleMania match. But back then If something wasn't my idea, I didn't like it, even if it was a good one. I was a bit of a spoiled brat at the time. I remember thinking I wanted to have a really good WrestleMania match, but how was I gonna do that with somebody that'd never had a match before, but I told Vince y'know, he listens to me and I'll do it but it's my way. And the agreement was he'd do the job (laughs). But the overall picture of why we did the finish of the match, you know Hunter turned on me and a lot of good things came out of that. My team with Kane came out of that, Hunter's big first championship run kinda came from that. I thought Shane did an amazing job, he really did. He rented the St Paul Civic Center, it had this little building that held 3-4,000 people called the Roy Wilkins Auditorium, he rented that and had someone in Detroit drive a ring and set it up in this empty building, so I'd go there and work out a match with him for WrestleMania. I wasn't going anywhere on my days off. I thought that was really going above and beyond, sending a ring to Detroit, Shane and I ended up being pretty tight."

Whether he watches TNA: "You know what I should, I really should, but I don't. I don't know why or what it is but it just doesn't feel like must see TV to me."

Thoughts on going down to NXT: "From where it was a couple of years ago it's so much better, so much better. I actually think quite often it's the best thing on TV. Sometimes I think the best stuff comes off of that show. Triple H is working closely with that too. "

Waltman also discusses Bob Backlund, Kane, WCW, The Kliq and more. The full interview is available here.

Views From The Turnbuckle: Payback Review, A Few Storm Clouds On An Otherwise Sunny Day

For a wrestling fan it does not get much better than a big event in Chicago. The claim they staked at Money in the Bank 2011 was furthered tonight, as it is unlikely that you will see a more raucous crowd at a WWE event for the rest of the year. The more hardcore fans that make up a crowd, the better the atmosphere is. We know this from Chicago, and the post-Wrestlemania Raw from New York, so you think the WWE would cater more towards those fans once and a while.

Payback was a nice show that was hardly boring during any time of the night. I felt that the event had some good story progression and really solid wrestling. Let's break it all down.

The main event was the weakest point of the show, which is a good and a bad thing. The main issue is that the WWE failed to anticipate how the Chicago crowd would react to Cena vs. Ryback. The boos for Cena should have been expected, but Ryback flopped horribly on the big stage, consistently being pelted with "Goldberg" chants. Ryback has been built up as much as possible save for winning the world title, but he is still being showered with the same chants that plagued his debut. He is not ready to be a consistent main event performer, and I don't know if he ever will be.

The match itself started out surprisingly well, until unfortunately slipping into the never ceasing corniness that pops up in almost every Cena match. The Lumberjack match was pretty strong, with a nice amount of wrestling involved, which is something I didn't expect. The tables match was also pretty solid. They did a good job teasing the table spots, and they got enough time out of that section to make the ambulance match seem more grueling.

The ambulance match is when everything began to go to s***. Cena and Ryback hokey poked around the ambulance with several recycled spots that take place in every single ambulance match. Soon, Ryback and Cena were ripping apart the ambulance like it was made of Styrofoam. I can take a few corny spots, but when Cena is ripping off the siren on the top of the ambulance to beat Ryback with, that is where I draw the line. The good news is that Ryback is history, and hopefully Cena will move on to an opponent which makes him shine more than Ryback did.

The Shield matches were more of the same from that faction. Good wins that continue to raise the prominence of the group. Ambrose got a win over Kane, which is a step up from Kofi Kingston. The count-out victory will set up a rematch, hopefully a stipulation match like a steel cage or street fight. If Ambrose defeats Kane on his turf, that will be huge for Ambrose. The tag team match was very good, as was expected when you consider the participants. Hopefully the anticipated heel/face turns between Orton and Bryan will work out soon, as they both really need them.

Chris Jericho vs CM Punk was a special treat given to the Chicago fans, and pure wrestling fans in general. Punk gets a big win after coming up short over the last three ppvs, and I think Jericho will be heading up for the summer to take up his many other pursuits. The match was extremely well done and a great display of technical wrestling and in-ring psychology, two rapidly decaying elements in today's wrestling culture. Punk and Chicago have a very special connection, one that is different from just about any other superstar and their hometown, and it is truly amazing to watch him perform in front of them.

WWE Payback: Ryback Vs. John Cena (Three Stages Of Hell)

- We get a promo video for tonight's main event.

Three Stages of Hell for the WWE Title: Ryback vs. John Cena

We go to the ring and Justin Roberts explains the rules of this match. Thirty Lumberjacks start coming out to surround the ring.

Stage One: Lumberjack Match

The Lumberjacks are in place and out first comes Ryback. WWE Champion John Cena is out next to a very mixed reaction.

They lock up and Ryback goes to work on Cena in the corner. Ryback with a bunch of stomps as the referee pulls him away. Cena comes back swinging but Ryback blocks the bulldog with a big slam for a 2 count. Ryback beats Cena around some more. Ryback with another big slam. Ryback charges in the corner but misses and hits the ring post. Cena with a fisherman suplex and a slam. Cena with an elbow drop. Ryback tosses Cena out of the ring and he comes back in before the Lumberjacks can make him. Ryback clotheslines Cena as the Lumberjacks argue. Ryback drops on Cena again for another 2 count.

Ryback keeps control and drops Cena on his neck for another 2 count. Ryback tosses Cena out to the heel Lumberjacks and they work him over before rolling him in. Ryback with a 2 count. Ryback with a suplex. Ryback yells at the crowd and they boo him. Ryback throws Cena back to the Lumberjacks and they work him over before rolling him back in. Ryback with more stomps on Cena. Another RVD chant breaks out. Cena tosses Ryback to the heel Lumberjacks but they let him go back in. Cena unloads on Ryback with his usual moves. Cena with a Five Knuckle Shuffle attempt but Ryback blocks it. Ryback presses Cena out on top of a bunch of Lumberjacks. Cena gets worked over again before being thrown back in the ring. Ryback gets dumped out this time. He shoves Cesaro and the Lumberjacks jump on him. A huge brawl breaks out with everyone. Cena goes to the top and leaps out on top of the Lumberjacks and Ryback. Cena and Ryback are both rolled back into the ring.

Cena locks in the STF. Ryback fights out and hits Shellshocked to win the first stage.

Stage One Winner: Ryback

Stage Two: Tables Match

The Lumberjacks start leaving as Ryback and Cena try to recover. Ryback with a big shoulder thrust in the corner as the bell rings. Ryback goes under the ring and brings a table into the ring. Ryback sets the table up. Ryback goes for a powerbomb through the table but Cena slides out. Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment but it's blocked. Ryback takes Cena down with a big shoulder. The crowd chants Goldberg as Ryback sets the table back up. Ryback presses Cena high but he slides out and goes for another AA. Ryback flips the table over but Cena sends him out to the floor.

Ryback sends Cena flying into the steel steps. Ryback has a table propped up in the corner and tosses half of the steps into the ring. He rolls Cena in and follows. Ryback grabs the steps and decks Cena in the face with it. Cena gets up in front of the table as Ryback waits. Ryback throws the steps but Cena moves and the steps crash through the table. Cena with a belly to belly suplex. Cena grabs the steps and lays Ryback out with a shot to the head. Cena brings a table in the ring now. Cena sets it up but turns around to a steps shot to the head. Cena falls on the table. Ryback throws the steps again but Cena moves off the table and the steps go through the table. Ryback tosses steel steps but Cena ducks. Cena comes back with shoulders and a big slam. Cena hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Ryback blocks the AA and nails a spinebuster.

WWE Smackdown Review: The Shield Receive Their First Clean Loss, Was It The Right Time?

This week's WWE Smackdown was the final show before the inaugural Payback pay-per-view this Sunday. It was the final opportunity to give the event its proper build, as the main event comprised of Randy Orton, Kane and Daniel Bryan against the Shield, with The Shield's six month streak of not getting pinned or forced to submit on the line.

The show started with Daniel Bryan talking in the ring, attempting to make amends with Kane. Unfortunately, this didn't last long, as the two began to argue. Randy Orton tried to play Dr. Shelby, but soon found himself in the heat of the discussion as well. The Shield soon sizzled the heat by cutting a promo with their amateur camera. Good way to build up for the main event.

Sheamus vs. Antonio Cesaro was a great match, and proves how much Cesaro can be a major player for the company. This match had pay-per-view for the World Heavyweight Championship written all over it, and it is sad that the WWE does not capitalize on Cesaro's abilities. Sheamus does well with opponents that share a similar hard-hitting style, and a feud with Cesaro would be worth the investment. Hopefully, we will see more of Cesaro on the winning side in the near future, instead of jobbing to upper mid-card/main event superstars. Sandow blindsiding Sheamus was a good way to gain momentum, but lowered his chances of winning at Payback.

Heath Slater vs. The Great Khali was a step up for 3MB. We all can admit that the trio was failed project, and they fell victim to a much more interesting heel group named The Shield. However, the trio can still benefit from being together, because we also can admit that none of them were relevant right before they aligned with each other. Expect for maybe Heath Slater, with his Legend Killer 2.0 gimmick (which WWE Creative could have done much more with; he was actually getting over).

Chris Jericho/Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler/Big E. Langston was improperly booked. First of all, they could have done without Ziggler competing in a match until Payback, especially since he did not compete on Raw. The question could be posed about him not being cleared on Raw, but let's be real, hereâ€"Smackdown is only a day later, so I doubt if that was the case.

Ziggler could have played on the most recent report that he was not cleared to wrestle yet, which would have garnered some kind of intrigue to see if he was really going to compete on Sunday. Instead, he competes on Smackdown, is the one who actually gets pinned, and continues to lose stock as the World Heavyweight Champion. Bad idea, not matter how you slice it.

Kaitlyn vs. Aksana being a random scuffle that I suppose was ruled a no-contest was a waste of time, and completely purposeless. It did absolutely nothing to build interest toward her match against AJ at Payback, even if they were trying to have her be angry about the secret admirer ruse. I feel like I'm already giving it too much time, so lets move on.

Curtis Axel vs. Wade Barrett was also quite puzzling. To save any dignity that Wade Barrett has, he should not have been a part of this match. Instead, the Miz should have been the person that Curtis Axel defeated to gain momentum, while Wade Barrett did commentary. After Axel wins, Barrett could have stood up from the table and had a staredown with Axel to build steam for the triple threat match. This definitely would have been a better option than to have the IC champion lose right before his PPV match. The Miz giving Axel the Skull Crushing Finale would have been better suited after Axel defeated him and was distracted by Barrett after the match. Again, bad booking heading to the PPV.

- SmackDown begins with a video hyping the Payback PPV this Sunday. Tonight, Randy Orton and Team Hell No will face The Shield.

- We skip the intro and go right to the arena in Greensboro, NC as Daniel Bryan's music hits and he comes out to a rousing reception. Bryan starts to cut a promo about his WWE career in Yes/No format. He says he never would have thought it, but Team Hell No is one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Bryan covers his ears and calls Kane out to the ring.

Kane says he knows why Bryan called him out but all he is interested in is their match with The Shield tonight. Bryan says the last 9 months have been an incredible ride but at Payback, Kane won't be his partner and Bryan will be tag champs with someone else. He puts a hand on Kane's shoulder and says that they won't be teaming anymore. Kane asks if Bryan is breaking up with him and says the same thing will happen when he wins the Intercontinental Title from Dean Ambrose. Bryan says that is a singles title and he and Orton will be "Team RK-No."

Kane says Bryan and Orton may not even win the straps. Bryan starts the weak link thing and they argue. He implies that Kane might be the weak link. Kane puts hands on Bryan's neck as Randy Orton interrupts. He says he can't let Kane chokeslam Bryan because he needs to be 100% this Sunday. Orton says he might be forced to RKO Kane. Bryan says he didn't ask to be saved. Kane says he has had enough and goes to leave. Bryan tells him to go and run off like always. They all 3 start to bicker.

The Shield appear on the Titantron and they are amused. They say they are unstoppable and untouchable. Ambrose says there is no need to argue because they are going to run this yard like always. Orton, Bryan, and Kane argue in the ring.

- Sheamus is on his way out as we take a break.

- Sheamus makes his way to the ring. Antonio Cesaro is already in his jobber role in the ring.

Sheamus vs. Antonio Cesaro

Damien Sandow interrupts right before the match begins. He says Cesaro speaks 5 languages and Sheamus barely speaks 1. Sandow says that this Sunday, he will play host to Sheamus' Irish Wake.

The bell rings and Cesaro goes to work in the corner. Cesaro slaps him and Sheamus goes crazy out of the corner with clubbing blows. Sheamus hits a powerslam for 2. Cesaro comes back and clotheslines Sheamus over the top. Sheamus catches him off the apron and tosses him into the security wall.

Back from a commercial as the action spills to the floor. Cesaro sends Sheamus' back into the steel steps and sends him back in. Cesaro continues offense with a headlock on the mat. Sheamus comes back and hits a back bodydrop and builds momentum with signature axe handles. Cesaro won't let up and takes control back.

Sheamus sends Cesaro to the apron and hits the forearm spot in the ropes. Sheamus has a nasty gash on his left shoulder from getting rammed into the steps. Back and forth. Cesaro hits a modified powerslam (emphasis on power) for 2. Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick in the corner from out of nowhere.

TNA Impact Results: Kurt Angle Vs. AJ Styles, Sting Re-Forming Stable, BFG Series, Rampage & More

- Impact begins with a recap of the Rampage Jackson debut. This is the Bound for Glory selection show. Plus, how will Hulk Hogan react to his daughter's actions last week?

- We go to the arena in Atlanta, GA as Hulk Hogan makes his entrance. Hogan gets in the ring and says it was an act of God that caused him to not hit Bully in the back of the head with the hammer last week. He says he told Brooke to stay home this week. Hulk changes gears to the BFG Series and introduces last year's winner, Jeff Hardy.

Jeff starts to talk about winning the tournament and the title this time, but Bobby Roode interrupts. Roode says he was the longest reigning and most dominant World Champion in TNA history. He makes his way in the ring and gets in Jeff's face and says he won the very first BFG Series. Hogan says the fans will decide who gets the first call-out between Hardy and Roode next week at Open Fight Night. Roode says he will call out Hardy. Hardy says to do it now.

Bully Ray and company come out. Bully says it doesn't matter who wins the BFG Series because they will have to face him, the champion. He asks Hulk why nobody from Aces & 8's is in the Series. Hogan says there is one spot for an Aces & 8's member and they will all be in a Battle Royale tonight to determine which one. Bully tells the brothers to attack the ring but Roode and Hardy take care of them and they retreat. Roode gets in a cheap shot on Hardy and he escapes also.

- Tenay, with Taz, welcomes us to the show and Tenay says we will hear from Sting tonight.

- We go to the back as Bad Influence cut a promo on Gunner and Storm as Daniels sits at a piano. The usual shenanigans ensue as we go to commercial.

BFG Series Qualifier: Bad Influence vs. Storm & Gunner

Bad Influence come out first followed by Gunner and Storm. Storm starts with Daniels. Storm gets some momentum going on Daniels as he tosses him around. Daniels tries to tag Gunner as he is rocked. Gunner tags in and resumes offense on a fresh Kazarian. Daniels grabs Gunner's foot from the floor and the heels turn the tables with quick tags on Gunner.

Gunner comes out of the corner with a double clothesline and tags Storm who speeds things up against Kaz. Storm stacks him up but Daniels breaks the count. Gunner back in now. He hits a running knee to Kaz and goes for the Torture Rack but Daniels breaks it from behind and tosses Gunner to the floor. Storm takes care of both opponents and waits for Kaz to get up for the Last Call. Daniels hits Storm from behind with the title belt as the ref is distracted and Kaz rolls Storm up for the win.

Winners by pin: Bad Influence

- Crimson is approached in the back for comments. He says he has been gone for a year and he will not answer any questions.

Randy Orton "Would Love" To Follow The Rock's Path, Talks Breaking Into The Business

Source: Shockya.com

Shockya.com has an interview with Randy Orton, who was promoting 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded. During the interview, Orton was asked if the movie was a pivot point in his career.

"Yeah, kind of like Dwayne Johnson, and the route he's gone? He's still around the wrestling world and that's his first love but the moneymaker for him now is movies and that's where his heart lies now," Orton said. "I would love for that to happen, I would love for that to happen. But as an actor can you compare me with the Rock? Hell no, hell no. I have a long way to go, and I know that."

Orton also discussed growing up in the business, but admitted to never seeing himself as a wrestler. He said that being dishonorably discharged from the Marines made him give pro wrestling a try.

"I got a bad conduct discharge, was at home for a few months in late '99 and basically said, 'Dad, I want to give wrestling a shot, I sure as hell don't wanna go to college and the Marine Corps wasn't for me. And I need to make some money, so let's see if I can do it,'" Orton recalled. "He made a few phone calls, and luckily still had some connections. Guys like Jack Lanza, Pat Patterson, Bruce Pritchard, Tom Pritchard â€" those guys all helped me get a tryout. And I'd never been in the ring, so they went on a lot of faith and signed me and thought that they could help mold me into a WWE superstar. And now I'm glad they did, because that was a big turning point in my life."

Orton also discussed his movie, Bret Hart babysitting him as a kid, if there is any meaning behind his tattoos and more. You can read the full interview here.

Newspaper Looks At The Mysterious Death Of WWE Hall Of Famer's Girlfriend

Source: The Morning Call

Last month marked the 30th anniversary of the death of Nancy Argentino, who was the girlfriend of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka at the time of her passing. The Morning Call has a great article looking at Argentino's death here.

The article noted that Argentino started attending WWE matches at Madison Square Garden with a friend who was dating WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz at the time. Argentino became noticed by the wrestlers, and even went on a date with Hulk Hogan once. She then got involved with Snuka, and didn't realize he was married at the time.

Snuka had returned from a WWF taping to his hotel room on May 11, 1983, when he saw Argentino gasping for air with yellow fluid coming out of her mouth and nose. He called the front desk and Argentino was rushed to the hospital, where she died after doctors were unable to save her life. The case was never solved, and her autopsy report has been refused to be released by the Lehigh County district attorney's office.

"I feel like the police didn't take it as far as they should have," said Argentino's older sister, Lorraine Salome. "The whole thing, for our family, is still up in the air. We still walk around wondering, 'What the hell?'"

Snuka wrote in his autobiography that the incident ruined his life, and said that if he was guilty of anything, it was cheating on his wife. He claimed to have never threatened or hit Argentino.

Snuka claims that Argentino fell backwards and hit her head on the road while going to the bathroom on the side of a highway, which resulted in a bad concussion. However, he told the responding officer that he had pushed her and she fell and hit her head while they were fooling around outside the hotel room door. Two emergency room employees told police that Snuka said that she fell and hit her head after he pushed her during an argument.

In June of 1983, Snuka and Vince McMahon - who was said to be completely cooperative with police during the investigation - met with the assistant district attorney, the medical examiner and detectives. According to the assistant district attorney, McMahon did all the talking, but noted that he couldn't remember any specifics of the meeting. Snuka wrote in his book that the only thing he remembered was that McMahon had a briefcase with him, and that he doesn't "know what happened." After that meeting, the article noted that there is no record of police interviewing Snuka ever again.

While no criminal charges were ever filed, the Argentino family did win a $500,000 wrongful death civil lawsuit against Snuka in 1985.

Randy Orton On Working With Hulk Hogan, How Much Longer He'll Wrestle, Maturing, Having A Bus

Source: Brian Soscia

Randy Orton recently sat down with Brian Soscia. Here are some highlights from the interview.

What he thinks are the differences with himself between when he first started wrestling and now: "I guess when I started I wasn't as responsible as I am now. I'm a father now and I think with that came a lot of that responsibility. I have a family to take care of and a family to look out for. So, I have to put them first. Before I was married, before I became a father, I really thought I was invincible, like I think most guys in their early twenties are. A couple humbling experiences and here I am. I think the biggest difference is that I'm a little bit more mature. Still a kid at heart, but I think twice before I make every decision now. I know that every decision I make could impact my daughter."

Does he ever travel with his family to wrestling shows in an RV: "Well yeah. It's actually not an RV. They call them Star Coaches. It's like a fifty foot bus. It's got a kitchen and a bunk and a king size bed in the back with wifi and a satellite. After being on the road a decade driving 800, 1000 miles a week, I thought now that I can afford it, I'm going to treat myself. A couple of us do it: Cena, Big Show, Triple H, Undertaker had a bus, Punk has a bus, Mysterio had a bus. When guys get to a point in their career where they feel they deserve it, if they can do it, they do it. I think, longevity wise, it's going to put another five, six, seven, eight, maybe even more, years on my career. "

How much longer will he wrestle: "I think the tank's still pretty much full. What I try to do is every couple months take a weekend off. Sometimes with us time flies by and before you know it you haven't had a day off, a good night's sleep, in a long time. Your body needs that. Your mind needs that. When you have a family you got to find a week here and there throughout the year where you can just hang up the boots and be a dad, be a husband and not be traveling the world being a WWE superstar. Everybody needs that."

What his time was like in the ring with Hulk Hogan: "It was great. It's magical with him, guys that are over like that. If you get the chance to be in there with someone that well known, even though I think he had a hard time moving around, it didn't matter. That's how powerful that brand is. He showed it, back in 2005 I think it was.

You can check out the whole interview above.

WWE Smackdown Review: Randy Orton Heel Turn?, Sound Off With Your Thoughts

This episode of Smackdown came to us from Long Island, NY. It is the second to last show before the first annual Payback pay-per-view, bringing more emphasis to Ryback's trail of terror as he prepares to go against John Cena.

The MizTV segment was decent. Appropriate way to set up for what happened at the end of the night. It really seemed like we were seeing the end of Team Hell No, but the backstage conversation between Kane and Ryback pretty much extinguished those rumors. You have to love "vintage" Teddy Long, appearing during the fracas and making the tag match main event.

Chris Jericho vs. Curtis Axel was what many thought could have been the swerve for Payback, with CM Punk not actually showing up. However, we just may get that match after all. I understand that both of them were meant to be booked strong, but it baffles me how neither Triple H or John Cena could not put Axel over more than a countout, but Jericho was pinned.

One similar thing between their loss to Axel is that by the end of the match, the focus were on the losers, and Axel's win was not as meaningful. Not very good booking if he is going to be the next main event star.

The Wyatt Family promos are salivating our taste buds, causing eager anticipation of where they will be placed upon their TV debut. Three active heel factions in the WWE may be a bit of an overload, but I am interested in how the WWE will balance it out properly.

The Alberto Del Rio vs. Heath Slater no contest match was too chaotic and confusing. First, 3MB jumps ADR before the bell rings (which it never does), ADR gets the upper hand, executes his Cross Armbreaker move to his scheduled opponentâ€"Heath Slater, the referee does not call the tapout because he never started the match, more fighting takes place, and eventually Ricardo Rodriguez gives a Cross Bodyblock to Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre. What really was the point of that? Hopefully not to save 3MB in any form, because that should have happened a long time ago to actually mean something.

Kane vs. Ryback was a good way to continue Ryback's momentum. Unfortunately, Kane had to once again be on the short end of a contest, but it made sense for him to take that powerbomb spot. What is even more sad is that there is a very good chance that this is all being done just to make Cena's win at Payback look stronger.

Damien Sandow vs. Deep Blue was a hard-hitting, catch-as-catch-can match that could have definitely went either way. The degree of athleticism shown in that contest was virtually unparallelled. Both of their ability to endure the opponent's finishing moves showed an uncanny amount of resilience. The perseverance exhibited by both competitors begs of another bout in the near future.

But to quote the great Lance Storm, "If I can be serious for a minute," the segment was actually good. Another innovative way to continue the feud between Damien Sandow and Sheamus. Having Sandow gain the advantage at the end of their dialogue was also a good decision. Again I say, this match should be officially booked for Payback, and Sandow should win.

Fandango vs Zack Ryder was a mediocre match. Of course, Ryder was way over, being in his hometown. It would be interesting to see if the WWE actually does something with his new look. Ryder is a very good talent, and has shown that he has the ability to appeal to the masses. A good midcard feud, namely with someone like Cody Rhodes, would be a good jumpstart to revive his dwindling career.

Kaitlyn's secret admirer will be revealed on Monday Night Raw... of course it's Hornswoggle.

Nice ending to the Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins/Roman Reigns match. As expected, it was a good match, with many close calls. On a side note, the momentum the Shield has gained makes any babyface they compete against more interesting. Even Kofi Kingston and The Usos have benefited from facing the trio.

Randy Orton's RKO to Daniel Bryan did not signify a full turn to me. They already established that they do not like each other, and are being forced to team up. Daniel Bryan accidentally drop kicked Orton, and Orton gained revenge. However, is it a way to plant seeds for a heel turn? Absolutely. Depending on the crowd reaction, I believe we will see a slow turn, if any at all.

Do you think that we saw a full Randy Orton heel turn on Smackdown? Sound off below.

Mickie does a full heel turn and attacks her.

* Bad Influence defeated Gunner & James Storm in another BFG Series qualifying match. Daniels used one of the title belts after the referee was distracted to pick up the win.

* Hulk Hogan announced that next week is Open Fight Night. He said that the fans would be voting between
Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode as to which will get the first call out of the Bound for Glory series. He also announced a battle royale between all the Aces & Eights members, to determine a spot in the series.

* Austin Aries defeated Eric Young in another BFG Series qualifying match.

* Sting comes out and the crowd goes wild. Said that he didn't get any help from any other wrestlers at
Slammiversary and that he was going to be forming the new Main Event Mafia.

* Mr. Anderson wins the Aces and Eight's Battle Royal. Basically, a finger poke of doom type scenario plays out but D.O.C. doesn't go along with it and fights Anderson, but is eventually defeated. (There were a lot of "this is why WCW failed" chants during this segment). I see this as the beginning of the end of the Aces and Eight's storyline, making D.O.C the next one that will probably be out.... more on that later though.

The main event was Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles. This match played out just like the PPV match, but the Aces and Eights came out, and after some struggle, AJ got the win and walked out while the Aces beat down Kurt. Rampage Jackson made the save to end the show.

Overall the crowd was great, we chanted all night and the match of the night was Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles, they should have had a match like this one at the PPV. One more thing I would like to mention. I watched last night's show on DVR and noticed that the crowd looked big. I will say as I was there that the crowd wasn't as big as I would have hoped. I noticed on this sites that a lot of people are saying that half the arena has been empty at these shows. Well, half was empty, but I can see why. They had cameras set up all over the other half, and the road crew was over there as well with all the equipment setup. I asked someone at the Gwinett Center about it and they said that there weren't any tickets available for that side of the arena set up. So basically, they are only selling tickets for half of the arena and not using the other.

It was nice seeing it on TV though and seeing myself in about every shot. Okay, off to The Forum in Rome tonight for a TNA house show, that's about 20 minutes from here.

George "The Animal" Steele Says He Contemplated Suicide, Talks Bruno Sammartino In The WWE HOF

WWF Hall of Famer and actor "George 'The Animal' Steele" joined Kayfabe Wrestling Radio Tuesday night for a nearly 30 minute interview where he discussed his new autobiography and how he came to the decision to do one, his struggles with dyslexia and how he 'conquered' it, his time at Michigan State, his opinion on Bruno Sammartino being inducted into the Hall of Fame, if there should be a brick and mortar Hall of Fame building and what he might like for his exhibit, what it was like wrestling someone like Andre the Giant, being an agent during the infamous Andre/Ultimate Warrior match, battling Crohn's disease and possibly considering suicide, who he personally think were some of his greatest rivals, what was harder: being a high school coach or being a WWE road agent in the 80's or 90's and much more. Highlights from the interview are as follows.

His upcoming autobiography and how he came to that decision: "I'll tell you exactly what happened; I wanted to write the book about 17 years ago, but it just wasn't right or ready yet. There was a lot more to add to the story and I didn't realize that; I think God was in control and just held me back, held me back and then I saw so many other books being written and I felt like the market was really flooded. So, it was too late. And then, when some other things started to happen here late, I thought 'Hey, the door's open', so that's kind of how it happened."

His opinion on long-time rival Bruno Sammartino going into the WWE Hall of Fame: "Well, as soon as Bruno had agreed to go into the Hall, I had a ton of magazines and people calling me and asking me what my thought was. First of all, I respect, 100 percent, his decision; I respected his decision when he decided not to go in and when he chose to go in, I respect that also. I don't know what was going on in the WWE at that time, you know, with the mindset. I know they were reaching out big time; I don't know if it was reaching from Bruno or from the fans or from the Hall itself, sometimes that how thing work in the wrestling business. So, you know, to me it just doesn't matter; it doesn't matter. The fans who wanted Bruno in are very happy with it, the WWE I think needed him in to make it a real Hall of Fame, and so therefore, since I'm in the Hall of Fame, I'm glad it's real, finally."

What it was like wrestling someone like Andre the Giant: "He could take a slam, believe me; he could help you do it. He called "slam" with me and I reached in like I was going to slam him and he was ready to try and go; I dropped down to my knees and sold my back and he looked down and kind of laughed and he said "You get it."

Battling Crohn's Disease and at one time, considering suicide: "Well, it attacks you anywhere from your liver down to anus; your total digestive system. You're totally out of control, constant diarrhea and whatever else goes along with it. On the morning I was ready to bow out, I had pain in every possible joint in my body; even my cheeks and my face was hurting. I was in totally pain and I thought, if I'm going to be like this for the rest of my life, I just don't need it. So, I went out ready to do the thing; at the last minute I had sleeping pills and had the car all set up and was ready to go; just drifting off to sleep, I was listening to country music and I hit the steering wheel and said "Bullcrap! I'm tougher than this!" And I'm not sure if that's me again or I think it was God reaching out giving me another shot. But, it was pretty close."

Live Notes From Tonight's Slammiversary PPV: Biggest Pops, AJ's Thong, Angle, Dixie

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Vertebreaker for sending in these live notes from tonight's Slammiversary pay-per-view in Boston:

- The show opened up with Christy Hemme and Jimmy Jay hyping up the crowd and schilling merchandise. Jeremy Borash came out and made a big deal of Slammiversary taking place in Boston.

- Dixie Carter was at the merchandise table selling the limited edition action figure of herself. Anyone that bought a figure could get Dixie to sign it as well.

- I had created a "Fire Hogan" sign, which was taken away from me shortly after Hogan came out to have his showdown with Aces & 8s.

- Speaking of Hogan, he got the biggest pop of the night when he came out. Hulkamania shirts were probably the most plentiful at the event.

- TNA had a large jumbo-tron, but instead of showing the actual matches as they would appear on television, it was just consistently showing the Slammiversary logo. It was too bad as some of the best spots of the night (like Taryn's running cutter off the ramp) could not be properly seen from where I was sitting, and they never showed a replay until after the match was over.

- The seats available were about 90% filled, but 3 or 4 sections had tarps over them. I would say there was a maximum of 3,500-4,000 people there.

- Kurt Angle was very over with the crowd and got a long standing ovation during the Hall of Fame ceremony.

- I don't know if this could be seen on television, but during the AJ Styles/Kurt Angle match, A.J.'s belt fell off revealing that he was wearing a black thong in one of the more interesting moments of the night.

- The crowd was split about 50/50 for Sting and Bully, with most fans standing for the entire match.

- Overall I felt that my money was well spent and I would definitely go again and encourage anyone else to go see TNA, even if you are not that big of a fan of the company.

No Holds Barred Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Title: Sting vs. Bully Ray

Sting will no longer be able to challenge for the World Title if he loses this match. We go to the ring and out first comes Sting. Out next comes the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray.

WWE Live Event Results From Poughkeepsie (6/2): Ziggler Appears, Orton Teams With Bryan & Kane

Thanks to one of our readers for sending in this report from tonight's SmackDown live event in Poughkeepsie, NY:

Pretty much a full house. Smaller venue so it made it feel more intimate.

Heath Slater is introduced first and makes a challenge to anyone in the back. He gets more heat than I thought he would. Justin Gabriel comes out. (Funny to me and friends because we saw Gabriel, Alex Riley and Slater eating together at a local IHOP. They let us sit down and take pics with them for a minute and were really cool about it) Slater got quick takedowns and taunted throughout. The pace picked up and eventually Gabriel won with a Lionsault springboard off the top rope. The next match is announced.

Alex Riley vs. Curt Hawkins is next. Hawkins played the heel here. He had really awesome Queens, NY ring gear on. A lot of headlock takedowns and mat wrestling. Crowd was pretty behind on this one. Riley was getting good cheers. He won with a fireman carry cutter. After the match the Shield came out to big heat from the young kids and triple power bombed Riley and Hawkins. They both got helped back stage and a Mike Chioda chant broke out as he was helping them back.

Chimmel asks for fans to vote how they want the Big E vs Del Rio match to go: 2 out of 3 falls or NO-DQ.

Next match is for the Divas title. AJ comes out alone. Then Kaitlyn. The have a good match, especially for a Divas match. Kaitlyn survives the widow's peak and eventually wins with a huge spear. It was very well done.

Dolph Ziggler's entrance music hits and he comes out in a suit with Big E. He gets a strong ovation by the crowd besides some young kids chanting Ziggler sucks and booing him. He keeps up his heel role telling the fans to shut up and then going on to say he's the best in the business and the WHC. He says AJ tried hard and that she'll win the belt like him. Then said he'll back up Big E tonight since he can't compete. The match is revealed as a DQ match. Ricardo is announced. The fans announced Del Rio with him and Del Rio comes out to a big pop. It was a good match with a lot of back and forth. A fan yelled about Big E's man boobs and Del Rio went out to him and started a Big Boobs chant directed towards Big E. This kept coming back throughout the match. A table was brought out earlier on but not used. Eventually Del Rio was taken down with shots from a kendo stick. The ref was distracted by AJ and Dolph tried interfering and hitting Del Rio with the belt. The ref ejected AJ and Dolph. Del Rio hit a Cross Armbreaker soon after and Big E powered out and was gonna powerbomb him through the table set in the corner. Del Rio got down and Irish Whipped him into the table and Big E broke through it. Del Rio pinned him for the win.

After the intermission Sin Cara vs Cody Rhodes and the Shield vs Orton and Team Hell No is announced. But first Sandow came out cutting a promo. Couldn't quite understand what he was saying over the boos but it boiled down to Poughkeepsie being beyond help and that everyone is stupid. He actually made a grammatical mistake by calling himself "A intellectual" Khali is his opponent. Sandow played scared and went after Khali's legs. Khali won with a chop. Match was about 5 minutes. Pretty much unremarkable. Rhodes vs Sin Cara was next. Sin Cara's titan tron messed up (go figure) He botched some moves but overall wasn't horrible. Cody Rhodes played a cocky heel persona so good though. He was a saving grace in that match. Cara won with the Senton.

WWE CFO Talks How The Network Can Transform WWE, New Stars, Take Two, New 15-Part Series

WWE Chief Financial Officer George Barrios participated in the Citi Global Consumer Conference for investors earlier today in New York, NY. He took questions after his presentation, here are some highlights from the Q&A:

- They recently stated that they hope to triple earnings by 2015. This is driven by three factors, which consume 80% of his time: the launch of the network, four key content agreements and monetizing their digital products.

- The Network is "somewhat of a game changer" at a price point of $12.99 - $14.99 with 2 million subscribers. At 3-4 million, it will "completely transform the company."

- Their two most profitable assets, RAW and SmackDown, have four agreements coming up: two in the U.S., one in the UK and one in India. They have delivered a lot of value to their partners in those markets and believe there is an opportunity there.

- He said that their digital audience is engaged with them and they are finding ways to monetize that.

- They will be vocal about achievements, and will announce new deals, renewals and partnerships. Under 18 months, they will be under new content agreements for RAW and SmackDown.

- As for the Network, he said it's up to them announcing carriage agreements. They have been working with carriers for the last 12-18 months and are making progress on tough discussions with them. They are also looking at potential launches internationally. The numbers mentioned earlier (2 million subscribers) are based on a fully distributed system in the U.S.

- They have had about 5 million downloads of their app, and they have launched other digital games, like Rockpocalypse. They are learning in that area, and are looking to grow.

- They plan to grow internationally, and noted how strong their TV is in India, however they have made little money on consumer products in that country. They have introduced new consumer products in India, and are working on changing their price point for products there.

- Video game sales have declined, and they found another partner in Take Two after THQ went bankrupt. He said that ratings for games tie into sales, and they like Take Two's focus on quality. They feel like they have a lot of opportunity with their partnership with Take Two.

- The program grid for the network will center around their monthly pay-per-views, and they will create retrospective content from their library. That includes creating stories from past eras, and not just running old footage. They created a 15-episode series called "The Monday Night War" which will look at in-and-out of the ring stories during the Monday Night Wars. He noted that the series tested really well. He said that they know they can create reality series, as is evident by the Total Divas reality series on E!. He feels that the price for the Network will be more appealing to fans than the current PPV price of $45 or $55 monthly, which is tough for a large audience to consume.

- In regards to stars, he believes they are on the upswing. He said that there is talent like John Cena and The Undertaker who are core, iconic talent. They have introduced a lot of new talent in the last year, and 7 new talents were at WrestleMania that never appeared at the event before, which they said was a key metric to them. He said that while they're not at the apex in terms of creating new stars, they're on the upswing.
