The Bella Twins To Split?, Yoshi Tatsu Asks WWE If He Can Move To Texas, Sami Zayn News

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- Yoshi Tatsu recently asked WWE officials if he could move from Florida to Texas because he had found a Japanese community that he wanted to live in. The WWE office, and this was blamed on Triple H, told Tatsu that he had to stay in Florida and needed to be at Performance Center practice every day to become a better worker. It was noted that most wrestlers regard Tatsu as one of the WWE's better technical workers and the idea that him doing drills taking hip tosses after going through New Japan training and being 36 years old was a talking point with a lot of guys.

- WWE officials think NXT star Sami Zayn is really good but they want him to stop climbing to the ropes so much and appealing to the crowd because Vince McMahon reportedly hates when people do that.

- There has been an idea pitched where Daniel Bryan would feud with John Cena and each man would have a Bella Twin in his corner. Regardless if that happens, they are looking to do a split between the Bellas with Nikki going heel and Brie playing the babyface.

Teen Killed Young Sister Allegedly Using "WWE Style Moves," WWE Issues Statement

The Advocate published a story today about the death of five-year-old Viloude Louis, who was killed by her 13-year-old brother after he allegedly used wrestling moves that he learned from television.

"The 13-year-old reported he started to wrestle with the victim and practiced 'WWE' style wrestling moves on the 5-year-old," said Col. John Fortunato of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Devalon Armstrong, 13, allegedly slammed his sister onto a bed and beat her. She suffered multiple injuries including broken ribs, internal bleeding and lacerations of the liver. The boy called police after his sister stopped breathing, and paramedics were teaching him over the phone how to use CPR to keep her alive. She died shortly after deputies arrived and paramedics were unable to revive her.

Devalon was booked into a juvenile jail and has been charged with second-degree murder. WWE sent us this statement on Viloude's tragic passing:

"The death of Viloude Louis is a tragedy, and our condolences go out to her family.

"WWE urges restraint in reporting this unfortunate incident as if it were the result of a WWE wrestling move. As in similar cases, criminal intent to harm and a lack of parental supervision have been the factors resulting in a tragic death.

"Authorities have already charged the accused with second degree murder and determined that this was not an accidental death due to a wrestling move."

Report From Mick Foley's Show In NY: Undertaker - Terry Funk Story, DDP Appears, Joey Styles

Thanks to WrestlingINC.com reader Zer0FiveSeven for sending in this report from last night's Mick Foley show in Smithtown, NY:

I just got back from the Mick Foley show in Smithtown and I wanted to give you a little rundown of how it went. First of all, there was a guy walking around who looked almost EXACTLY like Mick Foley, and he was wearing the Cactus Jack shirt with the red/black flannel. He had a lot of people fooled (including myself) for a while while he was walking around the venue before the show.

The theater was pretty nice, 300-350 seats, and the place was full. All in all there isn't too much to report other than Foley is indeed pretty funny. 90% of his set was about wrestling stories, many of which we already know. He told one great story about what Undertaker said to Terry Funk while he was passed out during the infamous "Hell in a Cell" match, which was something along the lines of "See if he's still alive".

Mick's family was in the front row and seemed to be very friendly to any fans that wound up speaking to them.

As far as the "WWE cameras" thing, sure, they were taping. I assume there was one static cam in the balcony, and there was one other WWE crew member walking around with a handheld, so it was NOT an elaborate setup by any stretch of the imagination. I wish the editor good luck putting together a whole special with two camera angles.

After the "standup", Foley did a short Q&A where nothing terribly important was covered. The Q&A ended with a plant in the crowd asking Foley to re-tell his "cookie story". I don't remember what book it's from, but it involves DDP, Steve Austin, and Foley sharing hotel rooms back in the day. DDP liked to walk around naked so Foley and Austin decided to crumble some chocolate chip cookies in his bed... Anyhow it's at this point that Foley says something to the effect of "I shouldn't be telling this story, so I'll just let DDP tell it" at which point they cue DDP's theme music.

Everyone flipped out, and was promptly disappointed when the female "comedian" (I use that term very loosely) came out dressed as a "naked" DDP to help add a little "color" to the story by doing any cursing that Foley didn't want to do.

After the Q&A, there was a meet n greet, but the guy in charge of the venue didn't really understand how to control the crowd very well. At first he wanted to go row by row, in order to line up, but he then told the people from the balcony to come down and "fill seats" which means "cut in front of everyone" apparently. Then, after only getting through about three rows, he told anybody with kids who "have to get home early" to get on line... So despite having third row seats, I was left waiting for about an hour.

Needless to say, I disappointingly left without meeting one of my top five favorite wrestlers of all time, despite the fact that he was at most fifteen feet away from me. He had items for sale at the table, with all proceeds (including all ticket sales) going to some children's charity. Signed photos were ten bucks, books were ten, DVD's were 20, and now on sale for "the first time in ten years" are the original Cactus Jack "Wanted Dead" shirts for twenty five bucks.

Everyone had to wait in the same line as they did to meet Foley to get to the merch table, but since I didn't want to wait, we told the guy who was running the venue that we had a babysitter who was going to leave our kid home alone if we didn't get back soon. At the end of the day, I got my shirt, but not without hassle from a few of the people in charge. It should be noted that there was no other table in which to buy these products. There wasn't a table outside the theater before or after the show, so for most people, even if you just wanted a shirt you waited in line for hours.

Oh yeah, Joey Styles. I was outside smoking a cigarette waiting for the doors to open when up walks Joey Styles, looking a bit lost. It was clear he didn't have a ticket, but was also having trouble getting a hold of anybody who could let him in. He got in eventually, but clearly had some trouble doing so. He acted as the host for the evening, and was surprisingly funny. He also is a lot bigger than I had imagined.

Anyhow I wish there was something more interesting to tell you, but it was pretty straightforward. No new news regarding him coming back to TV, no spoilers, no info on the network, etc. Just Foley performing standup, really...

Larry Hennig Weighs In On Curtis Axel, WWE Posts Rare Clip Of Sunny, Roddy Piper Appearance

- WWE Classics On Demand's Hall of Fame retrospective for July will chronicle the career of "The Original Diva," Sunny. The official YouTube account of WWE has posted the above clip of Sunny from early in her professional wrestling career supporting her client 'Primetime' Brian Lee.

- Speaking to Saint Cloud Minnesota News, Larry "The Axe" Hennig offered his thoughts on his grandson being remolded as Curtis Axel, which pays homage to the legendary AWA wrestler as well as "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig (son of Larry Hennig and father of Curtis Axel).

"He's no overnight sensation," said Hennig. "He's been working hard the past five years to get where he's at. And he deserves it."

Hennig believes WWE would have cut ties with his grandson if he didn't possess the talent necessary to become a player for the sports-entertainment organization.

"He's representing a billion dollar company. You have to be good or you're going to be gone. They can't afford any misfires there," said Hennig.

As for Larry himself, he and his wife run a real-estate business in St. Cloud, Minnesota, "Larry Hennig Auction and Realty." To read the article, click here.

- According to WrestlingFigs.com, WWE Hall of Famer "Rowdy" Roddy Piper will appear at the Days of the Dead Convention taking place next Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Wyndham Indianapolis West, 2544 Executive Dr. Indianapolis, Indiana. (Event Information)

Ted DiBiase Talks About WrestleMania 30, His Sons Being In Pro Wrestling, Del Rio And More

Source: The Miami Herald

WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase recently spoke with The Miami Herald to promote WrestleMania 30 tickets going on sale. Here are some highlights:

The big event: "It's very special. It really dates me a bit when I think, 'This is WrestleMania 30, and my first WrestleMania was 4.' It's almost like, 'Am I really that old?' It's a milestone year. What's amazing is WrestleMania I, 10 and 20 were all in Madison Square Garden. WrestleMania 30, instead of being in New York, is going to be at the [Superdome] in New Orleans. That's very special to me because I actually started my wrestling career in this area. Not the entire time, but the better part of the first 12 years of my wrestling career was spent in what was called Mid-South Wrestling. New Orleans was a very big part of that."

His son Ted leaving WWE: "He did a tremendous job while he was there. He stared in a movie [The Marine 2], and I'm proud how he left there. There are a lot of guys who leave with a chip on their shoulder or feel they weren't treated right or this or that. Basically what my son did was said, 'Thank you very much. I appreciate the opportunity.' He did it in a very professional way. I told him, 'Don't ever burn a bridge because you never know when you may cross it again.' I was very proud of him on all levels. I think he is happy now. He has become quite the entrepreneur. He has a lot of things going. Before he went into wrestling, he got a college degree in business administration. He has a lot of things going for him. He loves being home with his family, but again, never say never. If the bug hits him again, then maybe he [would return]. For now he is quite happy where he's at."

Who would he pick as Million Dollar Champion today? "Alberto Del Rio is doing a pretty good job. His character is in line with that character. He is the rich guy flaunting his wealth. JBL [John Bradshaw Layfield], in my opinion, was the cowboy version of my character. I think he did it extremely well. You are this extremely wealthy guy, and by virtue of your wealth, you are looking down your nose at everybody. Much like a bully, when you're confronted, you start backing off. Everybody hates guys like that. No matter how many times you get beat, you don't mind seeing them get beat again. That's what a good heel is in our business. I think JBL did it just as good as anybody."

Dibiase also discussed not wanting his sons to enter the business, his first WrestleMania, New Orleans and much more. You can read the full interview by clicking here.

Dana White's UFC 167 Vlog, Fighter Suspended, UFC On FOX Replacements, Diaz Refutes Rumors

- You can check out UFC president Dana White's latest video blog above; this installment was released in promotion of the upcoming UFC 167 fight card. The vlog focuses on the UFC's recent Fight Night events, UFC Fight for the Troops 3 and UFC Fight Night 32. In the blog, you can see UFC featherweight Rony Jason smash a wall backstage after suffering a 40-second knockout loss. Jason sliced open his arm in doing so and earned a 180-day medical suspension as a result -- not to mention a 30-day disciplinary suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct.

- Shortly after it was announced that Jamie Varner and Kelvin Gastelum would be forced off of the UFC on FOX 9 fight card with injuries, the UFC has announced their replacements.

Bobby Green announced via Facebook that he will be stepping in for Varner against Pat Healy. Green just fought at UFC Fight for the Troops 3 last Wednesday, earning a controversial win over James Krause brought about by low blows. Varner has revealed that he tore his rotator cuff and is out for at least six weeks.

The UFC revealed that Gastelum will be replaced against Court McGee by Ryan LaFlare. LaFlare fought even more recently than Green, having competed on Saturday night's UFC Fight Night 32 card. LaFlare picked up a unanimous decision win over Santiago Ponzinibbio.

UFC on FOX 9 will take place on December 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.

- Retired welterweight Nick Diaz recently spoke with FightersOnly to refute rumors that he turned down a comeback fight. UFC president Dana White said over the weekend that Diaz was offered a fight and that his management turned it down. Diaz explained to FightersOnly that, following a subpar training camp prior to his bout with Georges St-Pierre, he no longer employs a manager and was never offered a fight.

"I've not had a manager since my last fight," Diaz revealed. "I would like people to know that I was never offered any fight [recently]. I haven't had a manager, I told Dana that I didn't want anyone representing me after what happened with my last training camp."

Diaz will still use Gracie as a coach, but expressed his need for more out of the person in charge of running his training camps. His comments to FightersOnly seem to indicate that, with the right preparation, the Stockton native is willing to come out of retirement for a fight.

"Things change, people change. I don't have anything against Cesar but I see the big picture now," he said. "Right now what I need is a good fight and a good camp."

"I'm in a business where, until recently, the average standard for the wrestlers was probably in their young-40s, you didn't get respect until you were at that point where your body was starting to break down and, until that point, you were still kind of paying your dues. It's great for me to have so much experience yet my body is not breaking down."

Outlasting his peers after coming up:
"In time, I thought eventually me and my peers would move up and take over the top positions. Now I look to my left, I look to my right, and all my peers seem to have dropped off. I never dreamed of putting myself on the level of the guys that I looked up to and I never thought that I would be world champion, but I was a show-off and I thought that I had something that I could bring to the business. Now all those guys are gone, and my celebrity, my status, has me at the top of the company. I get the loudest responses from the crowd and it's very rewarding."

WWE Speculation On Hulk Hogan's Future, Backstage Talk On WrestleMania XXX Attractions

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

For what it's worth, people within WWE believe that Hulk Hogan is staying with TNA. At the same time, there are people in WWE would like to have him for WrestleMania XXX but the question is do they want him bad enough to out-bid TNA.

It was noted by a WWE source that if they put either Randy Savage or The Ultimate Warrior in the Hall of Fame next year, Hogan could do their induction speech, plus some kind of angle with a mid-level heel on the actual pay-per-view.

With The Rock and Steve Austin very questionable for WrestleMania XXX, Hogan could be the person to deliver big numbers for WWE. Last year's WrestleMania numbers were disappointing and there's a feeling that The Rock appearing for the fourth straight year isn't going to pop the numbers this time around. Unless there is a major outside attraction, there's also a feeling that the only ting that will get WrestleMania back to its previous numbers is an announced retirement and final match for The Undertaker, something big with Hogan or something big with Austin.

We also noted earlier this week that some people within TNA expect Hogan to re-sign with the company.

Who's Behind The Ryback/Heyman 'Proposal' Angle?, Masked Men In Wrestling History, WWE Attendance

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- On Monday's Raw, it was teased that Paul Heyman wanted to marry Ryback after being "saved" by the former Skip Sheffield at Night of Champions. Instead, Heyman proposed that he become the latest "Paul Heyman Guy." Vince McMahon was behind a shock tactic taking place on the program, as he made it clear to members of the writing staff that they feature "a spectacle" to lure viewers of ESPN's Monday Night Football away during halftime. An unnamed creative writer then pitched the idea of teasing Heyman asking Ryback his hand in marriage.

- On the heels of Monday's debut of Los Matadores, the official website of WWE has published a photo gallery highlighting the numerous masked individuals in the history of professional wrestling. A wide range of masked wrestlers are showcased, including Rey Mysterio, Mr. America, Sin Cara, Aldo Montoya, Blitzkrieg, Golga, The Midnight Rider, and Konnan as Max Moon.

- In recent WWE attendance figures: Sept. 27 in Denver, Colorado, drew 5,500; Sept. 28 in Dallas, Texas, drew 9,000; Sept. 28 in Huntsville, Alabama drew 4,000; Sept. 29 in New Orleans, Louisiana, drew 5,000.

- On Monday's edition of TMZ on TV, wrestling fanatic Ryan Satin donned an "Employ Joey Ryan 2013" T-Shirt. This led to a debate over who is a bigger celebrity, Paris Hilton or Hulk Hogan.

The Rock Helps Hugh Jackman, New Batista Movie Trailer, Jesse Ventura Lawsuit Update

- You can check out the red band trailer for Riddick, which stars Vin Diesel and Batista, in the video above. Batista is featured throughout in the promo. Please be aware that it is a red band trailer, so it contains bad language.

- Yahoo! has an article about WWE Hall of Famer Jesse "The Body" Ventura's lawsuit proceeding against slain "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle, who is considered to be the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history. A federal judge ruled on Thursday that Kyle's widow will proceed as the defendant. Ventura is suing Kyle for defamation after Kyle claimed to punch someone in a 2006 bar fight, which he later revealed to be Ventura. Ventura claims that the fight never took place.

- Actor Hugh Jackman recently revealed to Bang Showbiz, via Contact Music, that The Rock helped him get buff for Wolverine after he lost a lot of weight for Les Miserables. He said that he reached out to the Rock for tips, who told him to to spend three hours a day in the gym and eat 6,000 calories very lean for six months.

"I did it and let me tell you, The Rock is crazy! He is insane," Jackman said. "But we did it and the results are there."

As noted earlier this week, both Jackman and The Rock were among the 5 highest paid actors from June 2012-June 2013.

Goldust Talks About Working With His Brother Cody, His Past Drug Problems, How He Is Now

Source: The Post & Courier

Dustin Rhodes recently spoke with Mike Mooneyham of The Post & Courier about his return to WWE as Goldust and more. Here are some highlights:

His drug problems while with TNA: "It was day in and day out, probably two years solid, and I can go through the list of things. A half gallon of vodka a day, probably 60 or 70 pills a day, plus other stuff like cocaine. It wasn't good, but I didn't care. I didn't see the other way. I only thought about where I could get my next fix. I didn't see what it had done to me or what it was doing to my family and everybody around me. And what it was doing to my career and especially my health. I was trying and trying and re-medicating myself. It just didn't happen. Enough was enough, and about 3 or 4 in the morning I crawled out in the rain and my wife was with me. I was like, 'I give up,' and I got on the phone and told Dad I wanted to go to the WWE rehab center. I haven't turned back. I've been clean and sober for five-and-a-half years."

Where he's at now: "It was cool the way things worked out. I never could have imagined or dreamed where my career would be taking me the way it has with the Goldust character. It's awesome. I think I've stumbled upon the fountain of youth or something. I'm 44 years old and I'm down to high school weight (225). But I've worked hard for it the past few years. Plus being with Cody gives me more motivation. I've really enjoyed this storyline we've been doing. Now I realize that I can get out there and be clear when I'm working and really give a (darn) and get through a match without taking all that (stuff). That's really what it's about. And I'm enjoying it. I know what's going on now. It's cool."

Working with his brother Cody Rhodes: "I've been watching him constantly for the past two or three years. In the beginning it was me sort of pushing for a match with Cody at Wrestlemania. Vince just kept saying no. It got to the point of me just turning on Raw to watch it. I suffered a shoulder injury in 2010. So I did the producing thing. Getting the chance to watch Cody grow has been very special since he is wise beyond his years."

"The other night at the pay-per-view I gave Cody a tag and I just watched him. I thought to myself: 'This kid's got it.' I felt good for him. He was just cleaning house, on fire, and the crowd was hot. It was very special. He's really doing well, and I am very proud of him. He is the future. If he wants to do something that I don't think is right, I tell him. I give him a different way to look at it and a different way to get into it. He trusts that. Sometimes he's a little impatient and hotheaded, but at the end of the day we get on the same page. Whatever he can learn from me, that's great. We've gotten so much closer since this has happened than we were in the past. It's just awesome all the way around."

Tamina Snuka Responds To Rock's Recent Comments, Talks Filming Hercules With Him

As noted earlier, The Rock recently touted Tamina Snuka's inspirational journey into WWE. The Rock noted that she went from being a divorced mother of two working as a janitor to become a successful Diva.

Yahoo! caught up with Tamina in the video above, who said that The Rock's message was "very inspiring," and that she got teary eyed while reading it.

Tamina also discussed her big screen debut in Hercules with The Rock, and noted that they would joke around until it was time to start filming, and then they'd get serious.

"I loved it," Tamina said of working with The Rock on Hercules. "It was like going back to good old times."

You can check out The Rock's original message about Tamina below:

"10 years ago my cousin, Sarona Snuka divorced, decided to go back to college to complete her education and be a great example for her two beautiful little girls she was raising - all while working as a janitor. Today, she's one of the WWE's most successful Divas, a proud (and hot;) single mom who will be making her big screen debut w/ me in HERCULES and more importantly, a shining example to women of all ages around the world that thru endless hard work you can achieve anything when you make up your mind to achieve it. #Inspiration #SweatEquity #Respect #WeAlwaysActSillyAsHell"

Chris Jericho Talks About A Rumble Return, HBK Being Content, A New Face Of WWE, More

As noted before this past week, Chris Jericho appeared on Busted Open Radio with Dave Lagreca, Doug Mortman and Mike Riker. Busted Open airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on Sirius 92 and XM 92 from 2pm until 4pm EST. Here are more highlights from Jericho's interview:

A return at the Royal Rumble: "I can post a picture of me and the Pope on Instagram or Twitter and the first three thousand comments will be: 'When are you coming back to the WWE?' People are so obsessed with that. My response is that I don't know. I talked about this the last time I was on the show in New York for Fozzy. I don't have any plans. Not to say that I won't but as you can see there are a lot of really cool projects that are going on under the Chris Jericho brand umbrella and I think that just adds to me being an asset to the WWE and spreading my wings as much as I can and gaining the biggest fan base I can. I'm not retired from wrestling, I never said that. The time has to be right and soon eventually it will be right. I came back to the Royal Rumble last year and to come back at the Royal Rumble this year, it would be like: 'We've been there and done that'. I have to see what's going on and figure out another cool way to make it work when the time is right."

The next guy in WWE: I think anybody can be the face of the company if the fans dictate it. I think sometimes the powers-that-be may have different opinions but the thing about Daniel Bryan is that his rise is very organic. It happened basically in spite of the way he was getting pushed. I think if I had to pin point a moment that it happened, it was during that eighteen second loss at WrestleMania last year where people were legitimately angry that the company could treat him that way and started to really get behind him as a character. I think when everybody is chanting his name and the guy goes out there as possibly the best wrestler in the world and a great character and a great performer, why not? You need something different to replace the one that's on top as we saw when they were trying to replace Hulk Hogan for so many years until Bret Hart stepped up. I think he can be the face of the company if they so desired.

The rise and the falls being a test from within: If you are a conspiracy theorist, you would think that. All I know is from my experiences and if you look how I came into the WWE in 1999, it was the biggest thing in a long, long time. You look at the timeline of that, two or three weeks later, I was losing to Stevie Richards on Sunday Night Heat. There is always a growing process and if you remember the famous title match I had with Triple H where I beat him for the title back in 2000 and then was forced to give it up a few minutes later and what people forget about that is at the end of the show, I got pinned by Hunter in a six man tag team match, clean, 1-2-3. You always wonder that sometimes they do the opposite of what you would expect to happen as far as the way you would book things.

"I think that there is kind of a test, can this guy get over? Can he sink or swim? What's going to happen if we pull a swerve on him? Will he have a bad attitude? Will he stop working hard? You never know. My response to that is all you can do is the best you can do with whatever situation you are given. If you get too far with it, you got to make a stand and say something. Before I won the title that time at State College, Pennsylvania against Triple H, I was on my way to Vince's (McMahon) office; it was like the movie Slap Shot: 'Who owns the Chiefs? Pay me or I will leave' sort of thing. I'm done! I lost to Viscera,

Leaked WWE Memo From A Few Years Back Reveals Orders From Vince, Stephanie And Dunn

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

An internal WWE memo from a few years back recently leaked and stated a few things of interest:

* Vince McMahon no longer wants "Granddaddy of them all" using to describe WrestleMania because he feels it makes WrestleMania feel old and dated.

* Nobody can use the phrase "choke" for a submission move. Undertaker's Hell's Gate move was named Triangle submission hold.

* Producer Kevin Dunn stated that announcers can no longer use the phrase "title changes hands."

* Vince banned the use of terms "five star match" and "match of the year." As part of the memo banning those terms, Vince also wanted all announcers to "stop reading the dirt sheets" with the idea that it influences what they say.

* Stephanie McMahon sent a memo for announcers to never use the phrase "the referee didn't see it" when a heel is doing something behind the referees back. She wrote that it makes it seem like the announcers are treating the fans like they are in grade school. Stephanie prefers "the referee's vision was impaired" or "the referee's vision was blocked." Also, never use the word "hatred" or "hate" when describing a feud and the announcers should never say a talent doesn't care about winning a match.

WWE's Current Feelings On Signing "Smaller Guys" And Indy Stars, Recent Attendance Figures

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- All three nights WWE was in Abu Dhabi last week, they drew packed houses of 5,000 fans. The WWE live event on October 12th in Providence drew 4,500 fans while the October 13th show in Philadelphia drew 6,000 fans for $300,000.

- Regarding signing new talents, there is no hard and fast rule but there's a belief within WWE that they have enough "small guys" and the problem with business is there are already too many and not enough "big guys." Unless someone is really good, WWE is not looking to sign small guys right now. They also don't want to sign ROH guys right now but that doesn't mean Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards won't get picked up.

There's a feeling that guys who work independents and travel and have somewhat of a name already have bad habits, and if they are at the higher level, if WWE signs them and even if they agree to take the pay cut to WWE entry level, that the talent won't be happy over the long haul. It was also said WWE doesn't want talents who know they can get fired, go back to the indies and be successful without WWE. They want guys with the impression that their careers in wrestling depend on making it in WWE.

UFC Superstar Believed To Be Close To Retirement Signs New Deal, Set To Complete Trilogy

Though it looked like B.J. Penn's fighting days were over, UFC president Dana White announced on Wednesday evening's edition of UFC Tonight that the former lightweight and welterweight champion has signed a new deal with the fight promotion and will be facing Frankie Edgar in a rubber match after the two serve as coaches on the nineteenth season of The Ultimate Fighter.

White revealed that original plans had Edgar, a former lightweight champion, slated to fight Urijah Faber, but that those plans fell through when neither man agreed to change weight classes.

Penn was selected for the position after he texted Dana White asking for a fight with Edgar. The two originally met to dispute the lightweight title on two separate occasions. Edgar controversially defeated Penn to claim the 155lbs. title in their first clash and then defended the title against "The Prodigy" in a rematch. Penn has apparently stayed in training during his long layoff and "wants this fight more than anything."

Penn and Edgar will face off at 145lbs., where Edgar has been competing lately. It will be Penn's first bout at featherweight, having spent his last several fights competing at welterweight. The 34-year-old Penn indicated to White that he's hunting for a title and the UFC president said that he'll be on his way with a win over Edgar.

The Ultimate Fighter 19 is expected to air in January, with the two coaches to do battle at a currently unscheduled event in April.

UFC 166 Sanchez - Melendez Fight Of The Year Highlights, Cormier Calls Out Jones, JDS Update

- Last weekend at UFC 166, lightweights Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez engaged in a three-round war that many described as one of the best fights of all time. Check out highlights from the bout above.

- Despite absorbing an inhuman amount of damage at the hands of Cain Velasquez during their UFC 166 heavyweight title fight, Junior dos Santos' manager Ana Claudia Guedes revealed via Twitter that the former champion is recovering well.

"Just letting everybody know Junior is doing fine," she posted. "Precautionary hospital check and some stitches."

Guedes added that dos Santos is feeling "physically good, definitely a little heartbroken."

Dos Santos lasted until the fifth round, when he succumbed to strikes from the champion.

- Daniel Cormier remains undefeated after picking up a unanimous decision win over Roy Nelson. With his teammate Cain Velasquez holding the top spot at heavyweight, Cormier intends to drop to light heavyweight to challenge champion Jon Jones. Cormier spoke about going after Jones' spot during the UFC 166 post-fight show.

"I'm always shooting for the top," he said. "I want to fight Jon Jones and I want to fight for the championship. But if it's not him, then I want to fight someone who will get me there. But Jon Jones is fighting Glover [Teixeira] next, and I didn't want to disrespect him."

Whether or not Cormier has a bout at 205lbs before facing Jones, it's hard to think he won't be "in the mix" with Teixeira and Alexander Gustafsson.

Former WCW Wrestler Reveals Major Problems With His Neck, Back And Elbow

- Former WCW star Scotty Riggs has posted a new blog on Facebook with results from recent MRI and CT scans. Riggs, age 46, says his doctors told him he has the neck of a 75 year old. Here's what he wrote:

"***Finally got my MRI/CT test results... in other words finally took my ass to the docs to get the results...... 1) CT on elbow (already had 3 surgeries on it) tests showed continued degeneration of the joint with multiple bone spurring and a new subchondral cyst that is putting pressure on nerve... which is why the forearm and last 2 fingers are progressively atrophying ...with small bony ossicle adjacent to radial head and no remaining cartilage in elbow joint...... 2) MRI on neck --degenerative spondylotic changes from C3-C7, straightening/loss of lordosis where there should be a curve in neck... C4-5, C5-6 and C6-T1 herniated discs with desiccation through out the C3-C7 (drying up of discs and fluid in cervical spine) and bone spurs at C4-5, C5-6... with mild narrowing of neural foramina bilaterally --- to sum this up, my doc said I have the neck of a 75 yr old, not bad for a 46 yr old (LOL)...... 3)MRI on lower back --herniated discs at the T11-12, L1-2, L4-5, L5-S1 with continued desiccation and spondylosis in spine and mild stenosis L3-4, L4-5 with bone spurring at L2-3, L3-4 L5-S1 ***

This is basically summed up by my doc telling me that he's surprised I'm not a grumpy, pissed off grouch all the time from the pain/discomfort and that it is physically relevant to my depression upon how my body is telling my brain how much crap it's going through.... The cool thing about all this is it allows me to just be the "middle-aged and CRAZY" jackass that I love being.... it keeps me in the proper mood to rep the Kult of Kayfabe, ya gotta be a crazy sum b---h to keep up with those MF'ers.... And I'm thankful that DDPYOGA has become a lifestyle training routine and diet that are keeping me as healthy as I want to be.... that's all for now, thanks for reading reading my medical progress report that I know no one really gives a rats ass about......... so, have a good night and Godspeed."

John Cena Talks About Returning At Hell In A Cell, Nikki Bella & Total Divas, ADR, Doing Movies

The Miami Herald recently spoke with John Cena to promote Sunday's WWE Hell In a Cell pay-per-view. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Returning from an injury:
"This one has just been about me getting back healthy, because I haven't had a match in eight weeks, I really just want to be as strong and as ready to go as possible. When you're in the element everyday and you can really be around your competition, that's when you can come up with breaking it down a little more with your opponent. This will essentially be like the first game of the season for me. It just so happens to be with all the importance of the last game of a season. I'm really excited to be back, and I really think this Sunday is going to be special, and hopefully, I can shake that Miami jinx."

His opponent Alberto Del Rio:
"Anyone who can be a champion at our level deserves respect. I tend not to be the guy who runs everybody down because I've had my share of wins and my share of loses...You can't ignore the fact he's the World heavyweight champion."

Putting his personal relationship on TV with Total Divas:
"That was difficult, but I'm glad I made the decision to do that, and a lot of that had to do with Nicole's influence, obviously. I really wanted the show to be a success. I truly love Nicole, and I believe in her. It was a conscience decision for me to do it. I think our viewers will enjoy the second half of the first season that's coming back in mid-November on the E! network. As the show grows, it gets better and more interesting to watch, and I think fans will enjoy it this time around."

Doing movies:
"Movies are a different animal. I love the live entertainment business. I love the live sports entertainment television business. I love live television period, just because it's so honest, especially live television with an audience, because if that audience wants to say or do something, you can't hide it from the viewers. Movies are a little bit different. It takes a lot more patience to be in a movie, to make a movie, to be active in a movie scene. I have patience, but I don't know if I have enough."

WWE Smackdown Recap With Video: Rhodes, Goldust, Bryan And Big E. Langston Vs. The Shield

The show opens with Michael Cole standing in the ring. He calls Triple H down for an interview. Triple H comes down and welcomes everyone to Smackdown. Cole thanks him and says he knows it's a busy week. He asks Hunter's thoughts on Big Show and what happened on RAW. Hunter says he hopes Show is happy because six backstage people got fired. He says Show has filed a lawsuit against them and because of that, Hunter can't comment on him, as advised by his lawyers. He says he is focused on Hell in a Cell.

Cole asks if he is worried about Show showing up at the PPV. Hunter says what part of he can't comment on Show does Cole not understand. Cole asks if he can talk about the returning John Cena. Hunter says he cannot wait. He says he knows what it's like to come back from a career threatening injury and can't wait to see the match.

Cole then brings up the WWE Championship match and how HBK guarantees a champion will be crowned. Hunter says he's thrilled about that and how the WWE Universe chose him as the ref. Hunter says HBK is the right man for the job because he knows more than anybody about the Hell in a Cell match and what it can do.

Cole says they agree about that, but don't agree about the man Shawn trained, Daniel Bryan. Hunter says that one thing he and Shawn can agree on is how to run the WWE and that when it's all said and done, he knows that Shawn will do the right thing. Cole asks him what the right thing is and Daniel Bryan's music hits. Bryan comes down to the ring.

Cole leaves. Bryan says the right thing is to let he and Orton settle things once and for all, regardless of what anyone else does. Bryan says inside the Cell, no one gets in and no one gets out until there is a definitive winner. Bryan says he knows HBK is Hunter's best friend, but he knows that he won't favor anyone. Bryan says that when Shawn does, Bryan is going to prove Hunter wrong and become the new WWE Champ and new face of the WWE. He and Hunter stare each other down.

The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family

Rowan and Jimmy start off. Rowan plows Jimmy over and strikes him in the corner. Harper comes in and lands a big boot. Harper keeps the attack up. He hits Jimmy with a body slam. Mick Foley Talks About Missing Kurt Angle In WWE, WWE 2K14 Fantasy Matches, Sgt. Slaughter

- Promoting WWE 2K14, the official YouTube account of WWE has released fantasy match simulations featuring Andre the Giant vs. The Undertaker, "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. CM Punk, Bret Hart vs. Daniel Bryan, and AJ Lee vs. Stephanie McMahon.

- While watching this week's episode of Raw, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley stated on Twitter that he missed seeing Kurt Angle inside the WWE ringâ€"Angle appeared in a John Cena retrospective. Today, Foley published a blog on his Facebook page clamoring for the return of the Olympic Gold medalist to WWE.

"[Angle] was on the video for less than 20 seconds, but that was all it took to remind every long-time fan of what a huge part of WWE Kurt was," wrote Foley. "I know he's had an amazing career since leaving WWE, but if my own departure from WWE proved one thing, it's that a good percentage of the WWE Universe only wants to see their WWE Superstars inside WWE. That's not a knock on TNA. But while many enjoy Kurt on a regular basis on Thursdays, I just know a Kurt Angle return to WWE - whether it's a one-time match, an extended run, or a very worthy induction into the WWE Hall of Fame - will be huge! I miss Kurt Angle in WWE...and, based and so do you."

Chris Jericho Finds Christian (Photo), CM Punk Note, WWE Payback Correspondents Wanted, More

- The Chicago Tribune has an article about CM Punk returning to Chicago to face Chris Jericho at Payback tomorrow night. The article contains comments by local promoter Larry Statkus, who discussed CM Punk wrestling at one of his shows in 1998. The article also noted that Punk "could not be reached for comment" for the story. CM Punk has done a great job in building intrigue around the match by not discussing it at all. Punk has seemingly sent out a million tweets since the match was first announced weeks ago, and not one of them has mentioned his bout with Jericho.

- We are looking for correspondents for tomorrow's Payback pay-per-view, so if you are attending it, please contact us by clicking here.

- WWE currently has a WrestleMania Blowout Sale that ends tomorrow. You can get up to 80% off WrestleMania merchandise at WWEShop.com by clicking here.

- WWE will present a live event at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR on Friday, August 16th at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale next Saturday, June 22nd, at 10am PT.

- Chris Jericho posted this Tweet earlier today with Christian, who is still waiting for WWE to bring him back to television after recovering from an injury. As noted earlier, the most recent issue of The Wrestling Observer stated that his return is now somewhat of a priority, and he is expected to be back soon.
