Why New Orleans Might Get WrestleMania, Plans For Eve Torres Vs. AJ Lee, McIntyre, Kanellis

Source: F4WOnline

- In an update from earlier, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis gets the Superstar Spotlight on WWE's website today.

- Drew McIntyre has been off the road after his mother passed away last week but he's expected to be at Sunday's Survivor Series pay-per-view as Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal face Santino Marella and Zack Ryder in the YouTube pre-show match.

- We noted before that the frontrunner for WrestleMania 30 is the Superdome in New Orleans. Part of the reasoning for that may be that WWE can get a lot of tax credits by holding the pay-per-view in Louisiana. As noted earlier today, there is also a lot of talk in the WWE offices that WrestleMania will be heading to Los Angeles soon.

- It was reported on Wednesday that WWE officials are looking to bring up some Divas from developmental to help with Divas division depth issues. WWE does have a feud between Eve Torres and AJ Lee planned and it will likely get more attention than anything the Divas have done in recent years.

WWE Reportedly Changes Top WrestleMania Plans, Rumor On Sheamus' Road To WrestleMania

Source: F4WOnline

For what it's worth, it's said that whatever plans WWE had worked in for WrestleMania 29 were changed over the past week. Apparently major changes went down and the only match that wasn't touched is Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H.

This doesn't necessarily mean that for example, The Rock vs. John Cena isn't taking place, but it could mean that twists and turns or stipulations are being thrown in.

On a related note, there has at least been talk that Sheamus going down with two clean losses to Big Show will set up him to win the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row. As noted before, Randy Orton vs. Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Title has been planned for WrestleMania 29.

Legendary Wrestler Rip Hawk Passes Away

Legendary wrestler Harvey Maurice Evers, a.k.a. Rip Hawk, passed away today at the age of 82.

Hawk was a legendary heel in the business, and won several tag team championships with partner Swede Hanson as The Blonde Bombers. After Hanson suffered a heart attack in the early 70s, Hawk embarked on a singles career and won the NWA Eastern States Heavyweight Championship on several occasions.

Hawk later teamed with Ric Flair in the early 1970s, and the two won the NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship. The team would eventually disband and Hawk and Flair would go on to face each other in singles matches.

Several members in the business took to their Twitters to remember Hawk, here are some of their messages:

Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ): "RIP to pro wrestling villain Rip Hawk. One if the all time greats before cable. Instrumental in launching Ric Flair's career in Carolina's."

Howard Finkel (@howardfinkel): "RIP Rip Hawk. I remember seeing him and Swede Hanson as a tag team in the Mid-Atlantic area in the early 70's.. A rugged combo they were..."

Shane Helms (@ShaneHelmsCom): "RIP Rip Hawk. I always liked that name."

Mike Mooneyham ?(@ByMikeMooneyham): "Very sad news to report. Legendary wrestler Rip Hawk has passed away at the age of 82. One of my best friends in the biz. A wonderful guy."

Spike TV and CMT, which airs Redneck Island, are both owned and operated by MTV Networks, a subsidiary of Viacom.

- Last Thursday's episode of Impact Wrestling garnered 1.27 million viewers, according to TV By The Numbers. The numbers were up from last week's episode, which scored 1.242 million viewers.

- The following press release was issued regarding the grand opening of Hogan's Beach in Tampa on New Year's Eve:

TAMPA, Fla. -- Iconic twelve-time world wrestling champion, movie star and producer Hogan announced today the launch of Hogan's Beach, a 20,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar located at the Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel. Opening New Year's Eve, the new hotspot offers waterside dining, live outdoor entertainment, a mechanical shark ride, authentic tiki bars, a giant video screen on the beach, as well as indoor and beachfront dance floors.

"Everyone knows I'm a maniac about the beach, great food, good people and entertainment that brings everyone together for a good time," said Hogan. "So I'm proud to open a place that encompasses all that in one location and call it my beach â€" Hogan's Beach."

The indoor restaurant, boasting a sizable dining and bar area, will also offer outdoor, beachfront dining. Both options provide the perfect setting for Hogan's chefs to showcase fresh local seafood, mouthwatering steaks and chops, a full sushi bar, uniquely local and traditional entrees and a full-service tiki bar â€" merely a few highlights of this remarkable property. To keep the dance floors moving, Hogan's bartenders will pour from 30 beers on tap and 20 wines by the glass to a soundtrack provided by live local and national entertainment performing on brand new outdoor stages.

Acclaimed chef Robert Uzzillia, recently named among Restaurant Forum Magazine?s "Annual Top Chefs," is developing the food and beverage menu for this entirely new locale. A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Uzzillia was awarded both the Judge's and People's Choice Awards at the 2012 Taste Of Clearwater Chef's Competition.

"Fresh-local and flight-fresh seafood, along with high-quality beef, poultry and produce, allow us to present a menu that will make Hogan's Beach a dining destination as much as it is a place to come and have fun on the beach, waterside," said Chef Uzzillia, Director of Food and Beverage for Hogan's Beach and Kingfish Grill & Tap House.

"It's all about location, and we have a great one, along with great food, tremendous beer and wine lists, signature cocktails, waterfront entertainment and personalities to bring it to the next level," added Hogan.

Located at the picturesque Best Western Bay Harbor Hotel, Hogan's Beach also provides local and out-of-town guests alike with a wide array of amenities, including shuttle services and water sport rentals. "The energy Hogan's Beach will bring to the property will make this a very unique place for our guests," said Best Western Bay Harbor General Manager Happy Nook, "and I commit my entire team to making this the best beach experience in the Tampa Bay area."

Impact Review: Has Aces & 8's Run Its Course?, Sting's Reveal, Bully Ray & Brooke's Kiss

Last night's TNA Impact was a special "Championship Thursday" edition of the weekly wrestling show, where three belts were up for grabs. Austin Aries challenged Jeff Hardy for the TNA Heavyweight Championship, Kurt Angle challenged Devon for the TV Championship and Mickie James challenged Tara for the Knockouts Championship.

It was a very wrestling focused episode of Impact that also showcased other non-Championship matches. So what was good, what was bad and what was just plain strange about Impact this week?

The Good

1) The show placed a focus on actual wrestling matches. TNA is notorious for their often-strange choice of backstage segments and storylines. So, as a wrestling fan, it was very refreshing to watch an episode of Impact that consisted mostly of wrestling.

2) The budding feud between Kenny King and RVD intensified. In a non-championship match, Kenny King teamed with RVD (who he beat last week on Impact) to take on the team of Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan. It was a match that should have been a rather interesting clash of different in ring styles. Instead, we saw Kenny King abandon his partner RVD and head up the ramp, while RVD fell victim to a Carbon Footprint from Matt Morgan and lost the match. King then stared at RVD from the top of the ramp and gloated at his partner, making it very well known that he has the current upper hand in their rivalry.

This feud between King and Van Dam is one of the most revitalizing rivalries that the Impact Zone has seen in a long while, and it needs to stretch across a few more PPV's. The two have great in ring chemistry together, and there is no doubt that Impact is in need of such excitement.

3) The entire Hardy VS Aries match was amazing, as fans have come to expect. Hardy and Aries know how to put on a good feud, as Aries is a natural bad guy. The two are both great wrestlers who understand their craft and know what it takes to put on a show. Sure, their match last night wasn't as great as the last time the two clashed, but it's still good to see such a high quality match on TV.

The best part though came before the match, when Aries mocked those weird inner monologue promos that Hardy cuts. It was priceless.

The Bad

1) Kurt Angle needs to stop wrestling. Now, Kurt Angle is a wrestler that deserves respect. He no doubt helped to shape professional wrestling as it is today. However, there comes a time when wrestlers get past their prime, and Kurt Angle is well beyond his. His match against Devon for the TV Championship was just ugly. Perhaps it's time Angle moved into an on screen manager or authority position, something akin to his days as GM of Smackdown.

2) Aces and Eights are no longer believable as a threatening, rogue group. Last night on Impact, during a promo by Hulk Hogan (that Aces and Eights interrupted) all it took to clear them away from the ring was Bully Ray running down to the ring.

One man was able to chase off a handful of wrestlers apparently more than capable of taking out a single person. So why was Bully able to scare them off? At this point, Aces and Eights has run its course. It was a good faction at first, but now they just don't seem to evoke any sort or reaction from the crowd.

3) Kazarian had a Christmas special, and it was just plain terrible. The dialogue was awful, the premise was awful; everything was just awful about it. Which, to be honest, is a bit surprising. Kazarian and Christopher Daniels are normally two of the best characters to watch on Impact, but they missed the mark with the Christmas segment.

Extreme Rising Cage Match Change, New Jack Pulled From Show

Extreme Rising issued the following press release in regards to New Jack being removed from their upcoming event next week due to injury:

12/29 â€" CHANGE IN STEEL CAGE MATCH
NEW JACK OUT DUE TO INJURY. BLK OUT TO FACE MYSTERY TEAM.

Extreme Rising has made one of the most difficult, but logical and reasonable decisions that it has had to make since allowing Sabu to return to action for the company in June. For some time now the owners and partners of 5 Guys Wrestling (the parent company of Extreme Reunion / Rising) have come to a decision that will most likely be received negatively at first, but after the initial thought it is a positive decision and move in the proper direction.

Many times in sports and sports entertainment star players play hurt without ever telling anyone in the fear of losing their spot or pay. These players are willing to put their bodies and lives on the line by playing injured; unbeknownst to management and ownership. 5 Guys Wrestling and the general public have recently been exposed to the knowledge that one of our own is seriously injured and no matter how it may affect the upcoming event, we must make the responsible decision here and make the unpopular choice AND ALL ta lent working for Extreme Rising.

On Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Extreme Rising event at the Golden Dome in Monaca, PA, New Jack (Jerome Young) proceeded to devise and execute his plan to jump off twelve feet bleachers on to a table with another wrestler lying on it. New Jack proceeded to jump twice, as the first attempt the table did not break. After the second jump and successfully breaking the table, New Jack proceeded to the ring to give a speech. At no point during or after the event did New Jack ask to see the licensed doctor on staff, Dr. H. Pagan. After his match, New Jack was in the back, where he seemed fine and didn't mention any injury as he talked about future plans for the company with Cody Michaels, (Mark Keenan) a licensed chiropractor.

The company was not notified of any injuries sustained until three days later (November 20, 2012 at 7:10pm) as New Jack contacted 5 Guys Wrestling partner Steve O'Neill via text message stating he had a "hairline fracture in right heel and foot, deep bruised thigh and ribs, bruised kidney, and blood in urine. Other than that I'm straight." Upon notification, Shane Douglas (Troy Martin), Cody Michaels (Mark Keenan), Kevin Kleinrock, and Mike O'Neill were all notified about the situation.

Late evening on December 3, 2012 via telephone, New Jack informed Extreme Rising that "he saw his doctor and was told he needed surgery as soon as possible to repair a chipped bone in his ankle that was causing him pain, but said he was going to put off the surgery until after December 29, 2012. Extreme Rising and all parties communicating with New Jack (Jerome Young) "STRONGLY advised against post-poning treatment and advised him to proceed with ANY ALL necessary treatment(s) for his health and well being."

On December 10, 2012 10:49am New Jack informed the public on his Facebook page, "…dove twice on Jeezy.2nd jump, broke ankle and cracked heel.Went to ER,got admitted for 2 days.Grand total $8000.00.Who is responsible for bill Extreme Rising(Steve Onielle).Do i have insurance, yes.Told hospital dont send bill to my insurance yet. Was supposed to have surgery last week and cancled it because of the show 12/29/12.Been on pain pills since that show." Extreme Rising has requested information as to the hospital and doctor(s) that treated New Jack (Jerome Young) but has yet to receive that information.

After much deliberation on this matter, the collective ownership have unanimously agreed that it was in the best interest in the health of New Jack (Jerome Young) and company to remove him from the December 29, 2012 card, so he can schedule his surgery, rest, and not re-injure or aggravate his injuries any further. Such actions on the part of New Jack, or Extreme Rising by sancti oning it, would only serve to jeopardize New Jack's (Jerome Young) already war-torn body. We understand that this decision may not be popular, but we all agree and feel that this is in the best interest of everyone involved. Extreme Rising takes it fan's concerns VERY SERIOUSLY and acknowledges its fan's great interests in this match and this angle. Still, we must, when knowledgeable of ANY risks to our talent, be unwilling to allow ANY further risks OR harm to befall our talent. Any other decision would be "immoral" and "possibly negligent", said Shane Douglas (Troy Martin). With our fan's interests in mind, Extreme Rising will discuss rescheduling this cage match for it's 2013 schedule â€"provided medical clearance IS obtained from New Jack (Jerome Young).

We know New Jack is as tough as nails, but we are not willing to let him risk his health any further under his present conditions. We hope New Jack has a speedy recovery and excitedly look forward to a convalesced and healthy New Jack (Jerome Young) stepping back into an Extreme Rising ring.

In light of this decision, the Gangstas have been removed from the card, which is subject to change. However, Extreme Rising will still deliver a cage match on Saturday, December 29, 2012… and we believe the participants in this cage match WILL be a HUGE surprise to everyone.

Thank you for your understanding, and extreme patience in this matter.

Sincerely,
Extreme Rising / 5 Guys Wrestling

TNA Television Championship: Devon (c) vs. Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle limps to the ring. He grabs the mic and says he wants a title shot; the title that belongs to those sons of bit**es Aces & 8's. Devon leads his group to ringside. Angle says he has a pack of his own. Down come Samoa Joe, Wes Briscoe, and Garret Bischoff.

The bell rings and they lock up. Devon hits an early shoulderblock but Angle fights back. Angle moves and a charging Devon goes to the floor. The two factions mix it up at ringside. The ref gets them separated and throws Aces & 8's out from ringside. Devon takes out Angle's knee from behind in the ring as we go to break.

-We are told that Devon has been in control throughout the break as he works Angle's knee in the ring. Angle fights back with strikes to the head and a dropkick from the 2nd rope. Both men struggle on the mat to get up. Angle is up first with a series of clotheslines and a suplex for 2. Devon counters an Angle Slam and hits a spinebuster for 2. Angle hits a trifecta of German Suplexes. Angle locks in the Ankle Lock in the center of the ring as Aces & 8's come back to ringside. The ref gets distracted as Devon taps. Kurt's friends come back down to even up the numbers. One of the big masked men hits Angle in the back of the head with a lead pipe and Devon gets the win.

Winner by pin AND STILL TNA Television Champion: Devon

Wes, Joe, and Garett storm the ring as Aces & 8's flee and celebrate at ringside. Angle is helped up in the ring.

-We go to Brooke Hogan's office where the Knockouts are gathered. Brooke tries to decide who deserves a title shot a la her father. ODB is eliminated. We go to break.

-Kenny King gives his thoughts in the back on his win against Rob Van Dam. He says he won, no matter what. He has no beef with RVD. TNA is where dreams come true and he got to face and defeat RVD, and now he gets to tag with him.

-Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan come to the ring, Morgan in his Hogan robe and Ryan moving sleazily as usual. Kenny King makes his entrance followed by Rob Van Dam.

Rob Van Dam & Kenny King vs. Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan

Ryan and RVD start off. Ryan lands a kick and begins to mock RVD in a "karate" kind of way. He sounds like Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat. RVD hits a series of clotheslines and a back kick and standing moonsault for 2. RVD tags King who applies a side headlock on Ryan. Ryan counters with a go-behind but King hits an impressive Japanese Armdrag. Morgan tags in off the back of Ryan and hits a massive clothesline on King. Morgan glares at the camera; he looks like a Neanderthal. Morgan continues to dominate King and tags Ryan back in. Ryan puts a boot in the face of King in the corner and then delivers a shot to the face of RVD on the apron for good measure. Morgan drives King face-first into the turnbuckle from the apron behind the ref's back then tags in legally. Morgan drives King into the mat with a sideslam and tags Ryan who is drooling from the mouth as he poses for the camera in the ropes. King finally tags RVD who comes in with quick kicks to Ryan. King and RVD hit a double dropkick to Morgan on the apron. King takes out Ryan in the ring as Morgan enters. King flashes the peace sign and dips out of the ring. This leaves RVD wide open for a Carbon Footprint from Morgan. Ryan gets the pin.

Backstage News On Big E Langston, Jericho Talking With WWE, Dreamer's Injury From RAW

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- As of last word, there is nothing on the table for Chris Jericho to return to WWE but both sides continue to negotiate. Jericho had been in talks to return for a WrestleMania 29 storyline.

- It appears the debut of Big E Langston on WWE TV had not been planned for more than 10 days as he was pushed as the top babyface at the December 6th NXT tapings where he defeated Seth Rollins for the NXT Title since Rollins had debuted on RAW with The Shield. Because of the way NXT is taped, Langston's title win won't air for several weeks but the official NXT website has featured him in a graphic since debuting earlier this week.

- As noted before, Tommy Dreamer suffered some swelling after his angle with Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on Monday's RAW. Dreamer had to visit the emergency room on Tuesday due to complications. He posted the updated photo on Thursday morning:

"Just went to the mirror & this is what I see F*CKING PISSED @theshieldWWE swelling is bad"

Eve Torres On If The Divas Search Would Work Today, COMBOS Files, Fantasy Matches, Her Engagement

I recently spoke with WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres, who discussed her wrestling career and her involvement with The COMBOS Files web series. You can check out the full interview below.

WrestlingINC: You've been with WWE over five years now. How did you first find out about the Diva Search?

Eve Torres: Well, the Diva Search was broadcast on WWE every year for the past four years before I had started. So, it was something that I knew about and I knew it was a way for women that were kind of out of the wrestling world per se to have an opportunity to work with the WWE. I just thought it would be kind of right up my alley since I was very competitive.

WrestlingINC: Were you a wrestling fan growing up?

Eve: I would consider myself a casual fan growing up because obviously wrestling was such a huge part of pop culture, and still is. I was a fan as much as it was a part of pop culture. The huge names, I was obviously very familiar with. But, I didn't really watch much TV growing up to be honest.

WrestlingINC: You're the only diva to win the title three times. Do you have a favorite title reign?

Eve: I'd probably have to say that it was this current title reign right now, for sure. I think every time you win the title, it means more. You think that the first time that it means the most, but it really doesn't. I think the first time that you win the title -- you just don't know how to make the most out of your title reign until you've had one and then you've lost it. Once you lose something, you know how much more it means to you.

So, third times a charm for me. Obviously, I've taken a bit of a turn in terms of my character and I've had a lot of fun with that with this title reign.

WrestlingINC: Yeah, I think a lot of people feel that you've been the best female heel in a long time. Are there people that you watched in the past that have modeled your character after, or is it just something you've come up with?

Eve: I'm having a lot of fun with it. I draw from personal experiences, I think I've known real terrible people in my life. [Laughs.] I hate to say it, but everyone has experiences with people that you just can't stand or have certain characteristics that just irk you, and it really serves for good ammunition with these kind of characters.

You have to create your own character and you can base it off of either people you know or previous characters that have done similar things. But, it also has to feel real to you. It has to feel like something that is believable in your own mind in terms of the character you would play. So, I've really had a fun time finding out who she is with the help of obviously Vince, Hunter and some of the other divas as well.

WrestlingINC: You won the final Diva Search and the competition did bring in a lot of talent. Do you think that the Diva Search is something that could work in today's environment?

Eve: Absolutely. I think the Diva Search was a great way to find women who might have been intimidated to get into the WWE world on their own. It's kind of a way to say 'Oh, let's just try it out,' without too much commitment in the beginning and just feeling it out and seeing if WWE likes them. As somebody that has the look or the marketability or whatever that they're looking for, that sparkle that they're trying to find in the divas.

AJ celebrates as Vickie rolls out of the ring. Cena sets the ladder up as AJ watches from in the ring. Cena climbs up but AJ pushes the ladder over and Cena goes down. Ziggler looks at her surprised. AJ is upset. AJ stares at Dolph, smiles and skips away. Ziggler clim bs the ladder and retrieves his briefcase for the win.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

- After the match, Ziggler celebrates as we go to replays. Ziggler heads up the ramp with his briefcase as Cena recovers in the ring. TLC goes off the air with Cena looking disappointed in the ring.

SmackDown begins with video of The Shield and Sheamus & Big Show from RAW. We go to the announce table as Sheamus and Antonio Cesaro are sitting at opposite sides of JBL and Josh Mathews. Big Show's music hits and he comes to the ring with the title high in the air. R-Truth comes out. There are tables, ladders, and chairs all over the place at the entrance and ramp. Truth and Cesaro make eye contact from across the ring.

Big Show vs. R-Truth

The bell rings and Show goes to work on Truth. Show hits chops to the chest and stands on Truth while holding the ropes for leverage. Show turns his attention to Sheamus at ringside but is still successful in laying out Truth off the apron. Cesaro gets up from the table and walks toward a beaten Truth. Sheamus gets up and knocks Cesaro on his arse. Cesaro and Sheamus sit back down. Show taunts Sheamus from inside the ring. Truth jumps on Show's back but Show throws him off. Show misses with an elbow and both men are down. Cesaro hasn't replaced his headset and is sitting with a mean mug and ignoring Josh. Show hits the KO in the ring for the win.

Winner by pin: Big Show

Show raises the title in the ring and gets out and walks toward Sheamus. Sheamus gets up as JBL begs him to stop. Cesaro runs up and knocks Sheamus into Show and runs away. Show complains that his arm is hurt because Sheamus hit him and he walks up the ramp. We go to break.

-We're back to a replay of what just happened. Show finds Booker in the back and asks if he saw what just happened. Show wants the match called off. Booker isn't buying it. He tells Show to say he's scared. Booker says the match is still on.

-Damien Sandow is in the ring and he says, "Hello and good evening." He says he's been scouring the WWE Universe to find an apprentice but it's been like finding a needle in a haystack. He tells the crowd to stand up and remain silent. They boo him. Sandow introduces Cody Rhodes. Rhodes and his mustache make their way to the ring. We see a replay from Monday when Rhodes pinned The Uso's. Rhodes gets a "Cody's Mustache" chant. Cody says Sandow can stop his search because his equal, his partner is back. Cody starts to talk about Miz but The Uso's music hits and they come to the ring.

Team Rhodes Scholars vs. The Uso's

We return to Cody in the ring against one Jimmy. Jimmy back him into the corner and The Uso's make quick tags in and out. Cody launches Uso onto the apron and then to the floor with a distraction assist from Sandow take over in the ring and hits the Elbow of Disdain on Jimmy in the ring for 2. Cody tags in and goes to work on Jimmy Uso. Uso ducks a clothesline and hits a reverse kick to tags his brother. Jey comes in with fire and takes it to Cody and then Sandow. Uso hits the Running StinkFace to Sandow in the corner. Sandow steals a victory from behind with a roll up and a hand full of tights.

Ryback On If Goldberg Chants Bothered Him And How They've Died Down

Source: The Miami Herald

The Miami Herald has an interview with WWE Superstar Ryback. During the interview, Ryback discussed fans chanting "Goldberg" at him.

"I didn't expect the Goldberg chants," Ryback admitted. "I had been on the road from about the end of December 2011, but didn't debut until after WrestleMania, and not once did I get anything like that. Then once I got to TV, I think maybe the style of matches and the facial hair (led to the comparisons). I think it was the intense style and the undefeated streak. It never bothered me one bit and never will because I was a wrestling fan all my life. We become very loyal to those we see on TV before us.

"As you've seen the Goldberg chants have gone down tremendously, if not completely gone away. Every once in a while you will hear fans at TV or the PPV try to get them going, but they are drowned out by, 'Feed Me More'. If I was going out there every night and doing the Spear and Jackhammer, and mimicking his mannerisms, then yeah, they would probably still be there - but there is a lot more to Ryback. I understand them, but they don't bother me at all. It just takes time to get a fan base and have people become loyal to you."

Ryback also discussed comparisons to Goldberg, you can read the full interview by clicking here.

MVP Says He Has Not Been Contacted By WWE, Santino Marella Recovering From Car Accident

- Following a report cited to F4WOnline.com Tuesday that WWE officials have contemplated offering MVP and Shelton Benjamin a deal to return to the sports-entertainment organization, MVP went on Twitter to address the story.

"I have NOT been contacted by WWE," he wrote. "I still work for New Japan Pro Wrestling. I don't know anything about these rumours. Sorry."

- Santino Marella, who suffered a separated left shoulder during a a car accident in September 2011, says he is still recovering from the ordeal.

He wrote Tuesday, "Today I did my first sets of dips since my car accident 15 months ago, healing is slow sometimes but constant progress is the goal!" Santino tweeted.

Backstage Talk About John Cena's Health, WWE Officials Looking To Push Dean Ambrose

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- John Cena continues to work pretty banged up. There is more and more talk that Cena's time as the full-time top star isn't going to last forever. There's a feeling that he will do main event storylines for as long as his body holds up and then probably work a schedule where he wouldn't always be on top but be saved for a few big matches and then eventually begin a part-time role.

The time frame of all this obviously depends on his body more than anything else but it's now being said that there is probably at least one more face of WWE that will be chosen by Vince McMahon before Vince hands over all power to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

- Right now, Dean Ambrose is the guy WWE officials want to build into a headliner once the angle with The Shield has run its course. At the same time, there are some in the company who think Roman Reigns has the most potential of the three. There's also a feeling that Reigns isn't ready as far as in-ring skills go but Ambrose and Seth Rollins are.

DDP Upset With Newsday Article, Shawn Daivari Resurfaces At Event With Former WWE Diva

- Alicia Webb, known as Ryan Shamrock in WWE, and Shawn Daivari, attended the 5th Annual 'All in for CP' Celebrity Poker tournament at the Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday. Below is an exclusive photo of the two at the event.

Additional photos of the event are available at FilmMagic.com, which was also attended by Anthony Anderson, Jose Canseco and Montel Williams.

- Josh Stewart, a reporter for Newsday.com, spent twenty-four hours in Diamond Dallas Page's "Accountability Crib" in Smyrna, Georgia, last month, where 57-year-old former pro wrestling star Jake "The Snake" Roberts is cleaning up his life. The process is being filmed for a documentary titled "The Resurrection of Jake 'The Snake' Roberts." Page, however, is upset with Stewart's account of his visit in the article, which was published last week. The former World Heavyweight Champion posted a video reacting to "negative comments" written in the article, which "did not represent what he stands for." Here he calls the writer asking for him to remove statements that were "poorly chosen and out of context." The paper refused to change them. It's also noted that Page and Roberts will choose carefully who gets exclusive acc ess to their home in the future.

WWE Still Planning On CM Punk Vs. Ryback, Backstage News On WWE TLC Matches, More

Source: F4WOnline

- This could always change but at last word, there are no title changes planned for WWE's TLC pay-per-view. Right now champions scheduled to defend include United States Champion Antonio Cesaro, Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston and World Heavyweight Champion Big Show.

Internally, Dolph Ziggler is expected to retain his Money in the Bank briefcase against John Cena.

- WWE has confirmed that the Ryback vs. CM Punk WWE Title match will still be taking place, likely on an upcoming episode of RAW since Punk's next pay-per-view match will be against The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

Punk is expected to be ready for the New Year's Eve edition of RAW, which will be taped a few days earlier in Washington, DC. Still, WWE may not put Ryback vs. Punk on that show because it's guaranteed to do a low rating. The match may take place on the January 7th RAW, which goes head-to-head with the BCS Championship game. The January 14th RAW is possible but that may be too close to the Royal Rumble for Ryback to get his title shot. Either way, the match is scheduled to take place soon.

New TNA Announcer Discusses How He Got The Job, Working With Mike Tenay & Taz, More

Source: Monday Night Mayhem

TNA newest commentator/announcer, Todd Keneley, was one of the featured guests on this past week's edition of Monday Night Mayhem. Here are interview highlights, courtesy of WWEDVDNews.com's Aaron Carnevale, MNM's official contributor:

How he officially became part of TNA's commentating/announcing team, who he gives credit to for making this a reality for him, and his experience to thus far with the company: "It's been great. It has definitely been nothing short of a wild ride. It's been great. This is something I expected to happen and saw coming from talks. I really think it was Eric Bischoff that opened the door for this."

What he has learned, both on-air and behind the scenes, from working with Mike Tenay and Taz since coming into TNA: "I've learned a lot from them already, in terms of paying attention to what's going out there, and when to lay out and let the actions speak for themselves, knowing when to let the iMPACT Zone crowd or the live audience speak for us. There can be times where the action and expression of the talent can do the talking for us, and I think that is a lesson that I'm quickly learning from them."

The matches that he is looking forward to seeing this Sunday at Final Resolution, what intrigues him about the card on paper, and why "you cannot go wrong" with TNA's final Pay-Per-View of 2012: "The Knockouts division has been reignited lately. I can't wait to see what happens when the champ (Tara) puts the title on the line (against Mickie James). I'm very interested to see Joey Ryan & Matt Morgan team up for the Tag Team Titles (against Chavo Guerrero, Jr. & Hernandez). This time he has the big man on his side, will that be enough? Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles have such rich history, but this one is just so different. I think this one is so intriguing based on where both of these characters are right now. And of course, the World Heavyweight Title Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode. This is another one that c an't help but be good. Out of what is announced so far, from top to bottom, you cannot go wrong."

Much more is contained in Todd Keneley's exclusive interview with Monday Night Mayhem, including his candid thoughts on whether or not he sees eliminating Pay-Per-Views from TNA's schedule as a good or bad idea, if this will allow the company to build more efficient stories and excitement overall, the pros and cons of having a three-man announce team vs. a two-man booth and more.
